I recently ordered a 9 piece set of the performance plus line from newage on 2/28/16. The order went very smoothly and I got confirmation that they had shipped on 3/1/16. R&L carrier started calling wanting to set up delivery for 3/3/16 and we agreed on 3/4/16 for delivery. The entire delivery process has been horrible. After 4 failed delivery attempts, they were finally delivered on 3/12/16. I put this 100% on R&L, not NewAge.
When the truck arrived and rolled up his door, I immediately saw that the shipment was damaged. The stainless counter top was in a thin box of its own and was simply shrink wrapped to the outside of two of the large locker boxes. The counter top box had failed and the top had slid out of the bottom of the box and out of the shrink wrap and was dragging the floor of the trailer.
The two large locker boxes that were pounted to a pallet were both damaged and leaning almost falling off the pallet. There was one tool drawer cabinet in its on box and pallet that looked undamaged until it was unboxed to find that it too had issues. Out of the entire 9 piece set, I have 1 single overhead cabinet that is undamaged. Every other piece has damage.
I have taken at least 100 pictures and will be contacting newage Monday morning. Hopefully they will make this right. As long as they do, no big deal as things can happen during shipping.
Looking past the damage, I am still undecided on how I feel about the products as a whole. I had never seen the performance plus line in person. Considering the cost, I'm not overly impressed at the moment. Once they are bolted together and mounted on the wall, they should be quite sturdy. Right now, just sitting on the leveling feet, they are pretty "flimsy". Also, nearly every piece has some sort of finish issue with the powder coat. Some minor, some severe.
One thing I found to be extremely disappointing was the lockers. In the pictures, they show a large silver/grey "stripe" that goes down the front of the locker from top to bottom. One would assume it is painted or powder coated on. It is nothing more than a thin piece of metal that is attached to the front of the locker with double sided adhesive. One of the lockers, the stripe was no longer attached before it even came out of the box. The other it was falling off and had shifted down about 6 inches and was bent up at the bottom.
That's it for now. Once I hear back from NewAge I will add more.
At the moment, my initial feeling is the quality is lacking for spending over $2K for these things.
