My next Garage

Hi all,
I have joined just recently after purchasing our new home, in a rural area of the Sunshine Coast of BC. This is the first that I have built but the fourth that I have outfitted at home. I have set up my own business garages up a couple of times. It would seem that every time is different, this time I am not wrenching professionally. It's good to find a forum such as this.

With luck, I will have concrete in on Wednesday, I have been waiting since Christmas to get it poured.

The building will be 25 feet by 30 feet deep. Steel with no ends is how it will be shipped and the end walls will be built by me. A single ten foot door, heated pad in the floor and just enough room to work on one item at a time.

About the same size (30 x 24) except I put 2 overhead doors for bays on the wide side. Welcome.

After a suitable time to wait for dryer weather and the subsequent help to start construction, March hit and I made it this far.

After the initial scare of too many helpers with too much experience to listen...I started working on each panel on my own with my 12 year old grandson assigned to help. A couple good friends dropped in to help, and we managed to bolt things together.

Summer came and went, life interferes and fall hit hard and wet. I am framing the end walls with a few gusts, my 12x 10 garage door is set in the track, and the front wall is partially framed in an attempt to keep the water out!

I didn't compare the finishing costs, my preference would have been to have built more along pole barn lines. I chose to use this one more for material cost. The building was 10 thousand delivered and for the cost I figured the finishing costs would be taken as they came but I have a plan to cut those down a bit too.

Winter hit, storm after after storm carried some pretty aggressive 90-100 kph winds. Wind, rain, snow slows any kind of sheeting or building wrap but here is where I am at!

I dropped the ball on updates. I now have a 8x 30 mezzanine, panel and pole connection prepared.
Life has been busy, it has been a struggle to get time set aside.
