Pawn Shop Haul #13

My son and I went to browse our special Pawn Shop and to pick up my N2M Blue Point Tool Cart w/2 Options, Pry bar/Screwdriver Lockable cover on the left side. The 2nd is the collapsable shelf on the right side. The top and right side shelf have heavy duty treaded rubber glued to the tops. Only 1 key for it, want to go Barrel Key locks and keys.

Now for the 2 item that followed me home.

#1) Black & Decker Master Bit set, this case of bits was 15+ dollars and so I paid $3.00. I will paint all the markings in the plastic w/bright yellow and replace bits as the brake with Quality.

#2) OEM Disc Caliper Tools $20.00
This kit seems lightly used, I figure a step above my 14" End-Groove ChannellLock Pliers.

#3) Air Hose 300psi Snap-On
I needed hose for the 7.5gal. air tank I bought their made by "Huskee" made by ICS Industries. The tank looks good steel and heavy but the pressure guage looked like a rock hit the face. The pipes need replace on it so tried at Menards then gave up and went home flustered. Pic if needed.

Pawn Shop Haul #13

The ratchet like tool I don't know about, but the lot of tools was $2.00 and I figure them C'man skiggles are worth that? I bought the 2 Pro Lift jack stands for $15.00 out the door so I don't feel good abou that.

The box of steel from John Deer with carbide bits, 2 Peterson V-grips, Octopus lamp stand in stainless steel ect. walked out at $18.00 or so.

Rigid belt sander Heavy Duty I bought at Home Cheapo for $35.00 Clearanced not on file!

Re: Pawn Shop Hauls thread

I've got a couple to post up. You definitely inspired me. I used to go in, look at all the brand new (stolen, or "I've just cash advanced my Sears card") stuff, selling for RETAIL or higher, and walk out.

Now, I'm looking for the rusty gold!

I got this Kennedy roller and top for $75. The top is rusty as anything, but solid. The bottom just needs scrubbing with degreaser.

It came with the tools in the pix, and some misc allens, etc not pictured.

The adjustables and the wizard ratchet were in a drawer I didn't open and there was a stuck one too...

Best of all, the drawer that was stuck shut turned out to have the dial indicators and mag bases!

There was a huge 24" Ridge tool pipe wrench in the bottom too.

I've already started working on the top. Rust removal, primer, and eventually brown hammertone paint. Never did like the Kennedy wrinkle, but always wanted one!

Since we seem to get lots of pix of the 'rusty gold' but not so many of the 'gold,' I'll post a few pix of stuff in its "after" state. That will help motivate me to not just buy, but clean and use/sell.

Starting with the kennedy top box, as a work in progress (not quite gold yet.)

Then a pawnshop c clamp, before and after.

Not super dramatic I know, but my wrench pix don't look much different even though they are dramatically improved. Pretty much every hammer I get, or yard tool, gets cleaned up and painted right away. (or oiled, depending on use and function.) No good pix though. (I'm using the little Plomb ball pein from the kennedy box to straighten the box.)

zuk

With 2 little girls, I need projects I can work on 20mins at a time. :p

Here is some of a haul from a week ago. No time to post it as I was traveling for business. I was in a small, family pawnshop, a little further outside of town than I usually go. I spent 2 hours there and didn't get thru everything. I didn't even look at sockets.

Haul:

craftsman usa #3 phillips
craftsman usa #1 phillips
USA 1/4" driver
Usa (not excelite) precision flat head
USA channellok mini
USA stanley framing square
USA deep 4" c clamp (shown above)
20 oz Dead On framing hammer compare at $78

and

13 pounds of USA wrenches!!

all for $35.

zuk

starting with:

Bonney cam wrench (had to look this up, never saw one)
agricultural machine wrench, common (looked this up too)

powerkraft 6" 1/4 drive ratchet, already cleaned up and used
williams 1/2 extension, 12"

barcalo and williams (superwrench filled a hole in my set)

p & c
craftsman

indestro

To be continued---

Yesterday I stopped in at a store that is part of a local chain. Typical bunch of ladders and generators out front, overpriced truck brands under glass...

But they had wrenches and sockets in bins in the corner.

So, what the heck, I looked.

$15 take for the day,

6 wrenches, including a craftsman gear wrench, and a like new wizard
3 craftsman =v= sockets
3 craftsman -v- sockets
5 s-k sockets
2 possible Duro-Chrome sockets (did they use the stylized DC (circle x) mark on sockets?
nice craftsman tubing cutter, with sharp cutting wheels.

I'll probably go back and look for more s-k and =v= sockets.

I saw a local pawn shop ad in CL for a like new milwaukee portaband $100 so I call to see if its still there. dude says, "we had two, sold one" so I ask if its in good condition. he replies yes, warranty, blah blah blah. I drive over to check it out, looks way more used and marked $40 more than CL ad. I dig around and find a Indestro Super 3201 in the bin. I inquire about the saw, owner says we sold the one in the ad. I reply, well it was the clean one and you were asking $100, this one is clearly not as good of condition, will you take $80? he replies, "I'll take $90 tax included", I said throw in the ratchet and its a deal. His monkey rings me up for the $80 he heard me offer so I walked out with a Milwaukee band saw and the ratchet for $80. Deal?

Zuk, nice deals, you shop like me. Now I have my left eye on a .22 WM rifle with clip and scope. Bull barrel or extra thick that I could see. I want to try $200 out the door. What do you gunny geeks think?
Jeff, you didn't comment on my OTC disc break pad kit, bad deal? Anybody know?
I just looked for the Rigid 2720 I paid $35 for and see it from $179 to $244 so I fill better for dropping the $35.

TwoInch, thanks, I just searched ebay for the $78. Seemed high to me, but lots of the specialty framing hammers do. At $25, I don't get to gloat quite so much, but still a good deal.

Used it yesterday. Takes some getting used to the square head. I had a hard time hitting the points to set my joist hangers. I haven't tried setting the nail with the magnet part. When my bathroom framing project starts, I'll give it a try.

Who knew that there would be so much innovation in hammers and pry bars?

No, the scope is called an M1 scope by AccuriteScope or something. Kinda leary, now looking at Mueller 4-16×50AO Tactical. But money talks and mine uses hand signs! Looking to spend $300 from tool sells for the scope. I like hitting my antelope at 800-1000 yrds and real good shot at 1500 yrds+. Now you know me a little more eh?

Pawn Shop Haul #16

The crow foot line style is SK along with the 2 sockets lower right. The sockets on left bottom are all C'man laser etched. Then towards the right are Herbrand, Gribber? and 2 I will get better pics of tomarrow as my son and I just got back from the auction.
The awl is Proto, swival and bit socket with it are Stanley USA, the torq socket on lower left is Snappy. Out the door $2.63

The Weller Soldering station, Wright socket set, Thor 1/2" impact with extras was $100.00 out the door. I may not be able to operate pellet rifle, if not then I will sell it.
