Considering how hot Kentucky summers have been, I hope you made provision for aircondtioning. Also do you plan to insulate your sliding door?

Nice build coming along well.

Question for you, is this some sort of home made bead roller ?

If so anymore details on it ?

It is indeed a home made bead roller - I picked it up at an auction some time back, couldnt try it at the auction, and when I got it home, they had welded some things crooked. I'm not sure if it'll go into the scrap pile or if I'll fix it -

If it goes to scrap I'll more than get back my investment (why I bought it) its over 500 lbs and I can pickup one of the smaller ones from Eastwood or woodward fab

Just another small update. Got the majority of the arch formed up and more insulation. Man the JM insulation is cheaper and you get more, but it sure is ITCHY! Didn't have that using the Owens Corning - but to save the $$ I'll itch..haha

That's the plan. I'm planning a mural on the wall, so the lights will be pointed on that, also going to do some photos and other things that'll get some can lights too. That's why I left that last piece of insulation off, so I can get in there to do the wiring.

Ive been working on the shop here and there.. the cold and holidays (as well as a long term financial drain) have slowed me to a crawl...BUT... Still working on it when I can..

I picked up some Can lights and got MOST of them installed. Two more to do in the arch pointing at the wall. Insulation is almost finished - thank heavens!

Now, just to be clear, the back wall will have cabinets (upper and lower) - the can lights installed will help illuminate the front of the uppers. There will of course be no cabinets in the arch, that is getting something...special ...

Anyhow, hope you like the update - until the next time!

very nice Scott, I love the arch, alot. You are making great progress and it is coming along very nicely.

The best picture so far is the night one with the camping chair. I'll bet there has been alot of sitting and planning/dreaming and figuring in that chair huh? Great shot for sure.

Thanks for commenting on my build as well. Yes the copper air lines are coming along as well but the same thing, lots of standing in the garage,....planning, dreaming and figuring out things.

I hear ya on the money thing.

ps. love the signiture, It's not what the wallet bought, it's what my 2 hands have built, THAT IS SWEET!!!!!!

Thanks Rob! I appreciate the feedback. I hope to start hanging drywall tomorrow - thou I realized I do not have a drywall saw..haha

I have spent hours on this site, as well as others, and going through magazines, books, online articles, and turning wrenches in various shops, gathering ideas from here and there ...
I love looking thru all the different garages/shops on here, seeing what each person has done, how they store things, or laid out cabinets, work benches, etc etc etc. You never know where the next great idea will come from.

My arch for instance was inspired by Jack's 12 Ga garage... well not really his garage, but he built a workbench, that had a really sweet arch on its frame, and that got me thinking...

I hope that others will look through my build and take some ideas and inspiration from my build, and use it on theirs.

I'm glad ya like the saying - When I was doing alot of car shows, it got tiring loosing to vehicles that were bought and paid for, not built by the owner. Okay I'll get off my soap box now...

I do believe I'll be subscribing to this one! The arch acts as a sort of proscenium and the cans are very home-theateresque. Different is good. Keep the updates coming!

Is it just me or some pictures are dead!?

Anyway, I really like the feel and looks of the cans...thinking about mixing those with the T8 in my garage!

Fixed the links. Here's a Quick update. Did'nt get as much done as I would have hoped, but it took longer to get the Arch drywalled than I figured. Anyhow, the pictures!

I'm going to get the back wall finished up, then finish up the archway ... Oh, and the drywall is not trimmed on the arch, on the left side. Got lights to put up too.

Thanks Rob! Yeah, doing the arch was a bit of a PITA and the mudwork will be a bigger PITA but... it'll be worth it I'm sure. Two 1/4 layers of drywall.

The walls will go faster...

It's looking good Scott. You have some nice design elements incorporated - like the arch and light cans. Hanging rock and taping is not fun; hang in there.
