I really don't post much on here. I am always in my garage working on something, or making something...But, I don't think most of it is worth sharing. The other day I made a couple of organizers/ holders to help me keep my little shop from being so cluttered. The first is a grinder rack. I have a holder on each of my tables, but I always have grinders just laying around, and this gives me a place to put them. I did copy ZTFab's look, but the dimensions are mine. And the paint job... ya it was an experiment. fluorescent green and black splatter.:bounce:

Next, is a vise grip rack. I usually keep them in a drawer in my toolbox, but I always have to get them out, so I figured I would make an exposed holder for them. I found a similar idea on pinterest, but I modified it to work with material I had. The wall mount is a piece of 1"x1/8" angle. The part that holds the screw is 1" EMT conduit. I made the slot in the bottom just big enough for the stem to be able to slide easy without the head falling through. I did it the same way for the smaller clamps. I think it was 7/16" and 5/16" slots i cut.

Ooh. speaking of grinder holders, here is a couple pic of what I made for my tables. The part that holds the grinder was a random piece I had. It is fastened to the table with one 5/8" shoulder bolt and 2 pins that are 5/8". that way there is only 1 fastener.

I really like your racks especially the vise grip rack. I have been trying to come up with an idea to put on my welding cart. Thanks, Jim

You guys like pres brakes? I have shared this on weldingweb. This will do 1/8" plate 14" wide. uses a 10T jack. Punch and die are made by me. Its a little feller, but its nice.

The idea I found on pinterest was using square tube. I thought about going that route, but when you cut square tube lengthwise, it splays(?) out. I think this way turned out great.

On the vise-grip rack, could you cut half rounds out of the bottom with a hole saw in a couple spots so you can pull out of the center of the rack if you needed to?

If you wanted to go that route, sure. I made these because it worked for me. your mileage may vary. Also, I made 3 of these racks so, I have similar types/sizes grouped together. If I run into that problem, then back to making more.

Hey RC,
Nice work on your organizers!

Any build info on the brakes? The 10 ga brake would be really handy and probably not too bad to build?

Also, I'm definitely interested in what you're doing with the 52" 60t...
I've been tossing some ideas around for a shop press in that size... I've seen a few attempts at building/using presses of that size (one of them was store-bought)... most were under built and I would consider a fail...

Thanks in advance for any ideas/info you'd be willing to share!

This is something I have been kicking around for a while. I have a 20 ton press that I want to make a breaking die that can be added or removed. I have been watching the recycler for a die rig but the ones he had were 10' and too expensive for me. What did you do for the bottom die

Jim I would buy the 10 footer and water jet it into 3 or 4 lengths for resale for people like yourself. Just a thought.....

Yep lis I should have when it was there. I think it was about $400 for both halves didn't want to spend that much and wasn't thinking about it that way at the time still kicking myself. I need about 24" piece. It wont happen again.

Whoa. I forgot about this thread. I spent the day in the garage cutting parts on the plasma table for this. Smoker build for myself. Nothing too crazy. Its 16" pipe .250"wall. the legs are cut from 1/4" plate. Rear tires are 10" (? HF specials) front casters are 8" swivels. I want to be able to move it around easy. The top of the firebox is cutout and will have a griddle on it with a grease trough.
