Thats awesome! I started tiging when I was 16, I'm 22 now. I decided one day I wanted to learn how to weld, went into the garage and picked the torch up and went to town. My dad wouldnt give me much instruction on how to do it, so I read a couple of books and watched hours of Youtube videos. I cant blame my dad for not really saying anything, he wanted me to go to school. He used to be a boilermaker and now he is millwright. In his younger days he was one heck of welder the guys that work with him have told me. He knew that I would be good at it and would love it, because I am not really a fan of school. At this point I am fairly decent at welding myself, and will graduate next semester with a degree in management, minor in entrepreneurship.

Your not an Electrician by chance are you? Just asking because I seen the explosion proof disconnect switch for the welder and nice looking pipe work and was just curious. Nice job on the cart too.

Good job on getting your son involved in welding at an early age. He looks to be picking it up well and soon will be on here teaching us old guys a thing or two!

Great thread! speaking as a semi younger person (26) this is some time your son will really value later on, getting to learn from you and your father. Really like reading stuff like this and really makes me wish my dad was more of a do'er and less of a sit on the computer person. Cart looks great, welds look great, especially for just starting on aluminum, Keep the projects pictures coming!
