So I moved from a house that had detached 24x26 garage that I built. I loved the size. Last July we moved about 2 miles away for a bigger house with more kids in the neighborhood, but a smaller attached garage. Great neighborhood but most of the houses are turning over and not a lot of work has been done to them since the 70's. This split is a "L" shaped 4 level with an attached 22x 24 with a 5 step stairwell in the corner. I remodeled the kitchen, had a 10x14 shed put up and partially remodeled a bathroom all after we moved in last year. This year its a new concrete driveway with garage slab, and waterproofing 2/3s of the basement walls.
The garage had this neat shelf system on the back wall that I didn't really need now with a shed built and my old kitchen cabinets installed on another garage wall. I would much rather have the added depth in the garage. Tearing these out generated quite a bit of scrap wood. I salvaged the long vertical 2x4s for forms, the rest will be firewood.
