Thanks, just ordered the Klein. I have the Ideal BNC tool, didn't know they had an F connector version. I wonder why Klein discontinued theirs.Ideal makes one, too. 35-046. Around 18 to 20 bucks.

I'm not sure about the residential/construction side of thing but in the entertainment industry, anything that used to be an F connector is now ether BNC or become an RJ45. Though I personally prefer the stuff that's switched over to EtherCon.

Every TV that I have seen since 300 ohm flat wire went out of style and the cable company seem to be committed to F connectors. It is clearly not the greatest, using the cable as the center conductor but there sure is a lot of it.I'm not sure about the residential/construction side of thing but in the entertainment industry, anything that used to be an F connector is now ether BNC or become an RJ45. True, the last time I used an F connector was when I hooked up my Tivo, but I'm guessing that in the next couple of years TV's won't have them any more ether as they become displays without tuners.Every TV that I have seen since 300 ohm flat wire went out of style and the cable company seem to be committed to F connectors. Cable guy here. While that tool might not be widely used in the home, cable headends are 80% coax. That is a VERY handy tool to have when you need to connect a cable in the back of a rack that has a few hundred cables in it. Finger space is often limited and when you get the motion down you can connect and disconnect a cable in seconds with it. Here is an example of where it might be used, and this rack is only 1/3 full
