My daughter had asked me to fix a jewelry project and I said, "Sure. I will hit it with the Dremel"
"What", my wife said, "You have a dental tool?"
"No, no." I replied. "A Dremel tool. It's named after the manufacturer. Like Crescent wrench."
Then I got to thinking (Danger Will Robinson!) of all the tools named after the designer/manufacturer. I came up with the following:
Stilson wrench
Allen wrench
Skilsaw
Sawzall
Just like kleenex and xerox have become generic terms, so have many tool names.
Care to add to the list? (I'm trying to avoid going out to mow the lawn
)
