Did not get as far as I would have liked, but did manage to get patterns made for the floors, today.
Hopefully I'll get them cut out of yellow cedar, tomorrow.

Floors milled and limber holes bored.
Next up, prep hull interior for sealing.
After the second seal coat tacks up, the floors will glue in.

Got a couple of dirt cheap hospital beds, thinking I could use the frames, actuators and castors for something or other.
Turns out, one made a fine adjustable rolling cart for the boat project, with very little work.
Screwed some cradles to the headboard mounts and presto.

Shaped a couple centerboard trunk gussets today
Also got the interior scraped, sanded and ready for seal coats.

Thought I would start coating today, but ran into a pipeline helper of mine from 25 or so years ago.
Spent a couple hours reminiscing about old days.
Anyhow, got the boat slung up at good working height and angle for coating the interior.
Maybe tomorrow?

Got the first seal coat of epoxy on the hull and floors today.

Got the stem, transom and keelson filleted with thickened epoxy today.
Another coat of epoxy sealer over the entire insides, tomorrow.

Second coat of epoxy yesterday and today got the floors welded in this morning.
I'll get them filleted tomorrow, then on to the gunwales.

I got the line drawing and offsets from Eric about 6 years ago and starting lofting it last fall.

Yes, having not ever lofted or built glued lapstrake, I read all I could find.

Today, scarfed and spliced the inwhales.
Also, patterned and fit the ends, leaving them a whisker long for final fit up.
Lastly, clamped a batten to the sheer plank, to see if the sheer line needs trimmed.

Today, fit and glued in the second lamination on the inwhales.

Clamps pulled off of gunwales, breast hook and quarter knees patterned and the blanks glued up.

I do feel very fortunate to be able to tinker in the shop.

Today, got the transom trimmed to final shape.
Shaped, fit and glued in the breasthook and quarter knees.
The breasthook has a fair bit of crown in it, I'll finish shaping it after the epoxy kicks and then add a copper sleeve for the bowline.

I haven't built a " boat" in 40 years, yours is not a boat, but art!!!
Fantastic work!

Mine floated and fished fine, but looked much better at night.
Preferably a moonless night, lol!

Got the centerboard trunk cap, thwarts and mast partners rounded over and fastened today.

Fiddled with the oar and oarlock geometry today.
It's proving to be tricky with 3 different stations with varying gunwale widths, thwart heights and waterline to gunwale relationships.
I think it can be done with some compromises.

I need to do this on the boat I'm building. Our intended usage is tandem rowing, with my wife and I. I'm going to finish the outside, then do a brief launch with the interior unfinished. My wife and I will sit on temporary thwarts, with an observer making note of fore and aft trim so I know where to permanently fasten the thwarts. I'll also check the trim with a solo rower, although I assume the designer put the central thwart where it belongs.
