Hey all, I've been a lurker for a while now but am now ready to get proactive and get things done!

My dad has a 40x60 with a 16x60 appartment on the side. After 18 years we have filled it up. We are need of some more storage space. We would like to build a mezzanine but don't want any posts on the ground. I would like some ideas of how to hang one from the walls and trusses.

The trusses/walls are on 24" centers. They are standard trusses. It doesn't need to support huge amounts of weight but would like to be as strong as possible. We want to move an air compressor up their, along with shelves and space to forklift up pallets.

We are thinking about coming out 4' away from the walls and using all thread to support it from the trusses. Maybe build a hanger that goes around the bottom of the truss that the all thread can be bolted through.

I just need some ideas. Here are some photos of the area in question and a rough plan.

You will most likely need to know what the bottom cord loading is on the truss. Often it is minimal and likely to not hold more than ceiling load as most don't want to pay for upcharge in cost of higher loading capability. Hanging this load from the trusses w/o knowing this could cause truss failure.
A possible option may be pallet racking which can be purchased with long load beams and it may afford you the flexibility you need.
