leaving an old Craftsman 3 ton at my parents house, so its time for a new jack. Currently have 2 SUV/CUVs, so low-profile isnt a big deal, and (probably) dont need anything over 3 tons.

Was looking at the HF Super Duty Daytona (Snap-On ripoff) currently on sale for $200. Seems pretty nice but also heavy at 103lb. I dont have a garage, so Ill have to move it from the basement to the carport any time i want to use it (5-10x a year?).

Would you trade the quality of the Super Duty for one of their lighter weight options like the 3 Ton Professional Rapid Pump (70lb), or is there another non-HF jack you'd reccomend?

I have to budget for it. But I'm going to go with the Menards.

If I didn't have to budget for it, I think I'd go with the Milwaukee Model 20. All based on the two threads referenced above. Not from experience.

The torin, masterforce and northern tools all better seal option for this manufacture quality level than the HF .
We had a HF Daytona for a while but that went back as was creeping down pretty bad and I done some research on these jacks .Took credit on that and went with the torin jackboss from tractor supply due to ucup and I prefer some yellow on jack as more visual safety and you don.t trip over them in the shop lol .
Torins been good and had fair bit of use .
If you close to menards then it better price/warranty package .
Northern tools works out good for mail order but no idea how easy warranty/send back if faulty .
I went tractor supply as got one close and the staff been easy deal with from past experience and not an item I want be return shipping lol .
Reality is even the orings good but HF as usual cutting corners so the can compete harder with retail pricing and giving you total marketing **** on avoiding the important details .
For the money they pretty nice jack in quality and design .

I like the idea of getting a shed or a box for storage in the carport. It would **** to haul any floor jack up and down stairs. Seems like a way to eventually hurt something.

I also agree that the Menards Masterforce, Torin JackBoss, and northern tools yellowjacket look to be upgraded clones of the yellow Daytona.

I’d personally at least browse through Milwaukee Hydraulics, Hein Werner, AC Hydraulics, Norco and Omega online catalogs just to see what’s available.

I'd go with outside storage shed/bin, or if you can live with ~18" lift, a 2.5ton (depending on SUV size) aluminum jack in your choice of brands. That'll probably be about 55lbs. All the jack has to do is get it up in the air enough to put jack stands in place.

One thing I've learned about car maintenance and repair is that the more labor intensive steps you can remove or reduce, the less of a burden it is. While that is obvious, I mean to the extent of motivating yourself to do it, or after a long day, having it easy enough to do that it's not some task worth registering on a calendar, that you can just squeeze it in whenever.

Think about the issue (that I assume) of not just hauling the jack up and downstairs but everything else too! It all adds up.

If the $59 HF aluminum jack will work for you (lift height), it's fairly portable. And you'll be using jack stands anyway, right?

I own the HF Daytona (DJ3000) floor jack you're looking at, excellent jack for DIY use. But I'd hate to carry that jack out of a basement every time I needed to use it. It's heavy--but any quality floor jack would be. Also somewhat dangerous to carry something like that up a flight of stairs. Maybe there's a utility room in your house where you could keep it. You can detach the handle, and the Daytona jack has a reasonably narrow footprint. Good luck.
