Those are typically very low amperage. Probably not a good choice. Also many recent are higher voltage than is desirable. The newer ones are also solid state which can present other problems.

Actually, there is a way around that someone posted:

Use the new type battery charger AND a battery. The battery keeps the thing running and provides a more stable current through the E tank.

When you do this, are you connecting the battery in parallel or series?
