Need help finding a 21mm torque adapter

Need to find a 21mm torque adaptor or some other way to torque a nut that I can't get a socket and the head of the torque wrench on not enough clearance. Can get a box end wrench on it all day. I'm having a hard time finding metric over 19mm.

I generally just use the calibrated elbow on those oddball things. Sure if it really mattered or needed to do lots of them I'd look into a tool.

Don't have any crowfoot wrenches. I found the Snap-On but its a one time maybe 2 time use. I will see if I can find a crowfoot one locally.

What type of torque wrench do you have? I have interchangeable head torque wrenches for this purpose. In Europe this is a very common type of torque wrench. 99% of the time you use the ratchet head but for situations like you're suggesting the ability to put an open end wrench head or a box wrench head on the torque wrench is a great benefit. Capri sells the heads. Why Americans don't use interchangeable head torque wrenches has always been a mystery to me.

We do have them but at the moment I believe they are mostly used in refrigeration and or hydraulics. I saw them become more popular with the increasing popularity of mini split systems which are all imported to the USA

I figured he wanted a less expensive option and if he has room for a crow foot it may be cheaper or he could get a whole set and have them for another time. Versatility

for one 21MM crowfoot tool I would check amazon, ebay, Grainger, Mcmaster, and maybe Northern tool if they have a store in your area. I doubt they will have one in store, but they are kind of my go to for filling in single sockets out of my 3/4 impacts and similar skip sizes in various kits I have purchased.

Ordered a Tekton crow foot. Just can't justify the Snap-on, Proto no metric, Matco 19mm biggest, no odd brands on Ebay. May go to the pawn shop and get a cheap wrench to modify. Waiting on parts anyway.

I was in the same situation this past weekend. I rebuilt a motor, dropped it in the frame, and realized I didn't torque a critical bolt which was now obstructed by a frame rail.

A sacrificial wrench was cut down and welded to a socket. Presto, I had my torque adapter. Keep the adapter short, maybe 2" max, and at 90 degrees to your torque wrench, and you don't have to adjust the torque spec.

It took longer to fire up the welder than it did to make the adapter and torque the fastener!

There are things like this that you clamp a wrench into, and they're not cheap, considering how simple they are.

I was going to say "assuming you have loads of room for the rest of the wrench", but if you have a stubby wrench set, not so much! These also give you the option of open end or box.

I'm pondering getting one of these but it won't stop me from wanting torque adapters, too.

Funny end to the story. I actually needed a 22mm. Ordered and returned Tekton crows foot. I ended up giving the good and tight with a long box end wrench.
