I have a natural spring under my house and the previous owner installed a sump in the basement using a piece of 24" metal corrugated pipe surrounded by concrete. He was using a piece of plywood to cover the hole and for obvious reasons (wood absorbs moisture and mold grows), I would like to find something a little more substantial.
I found a company called polylok that makes a cover for plastic pipe - https://drainagedirect.com/24-heavy...MIsM6fj7GJ4gIV3LfACh3pNgTaEAQYAiABEgKoHPD_BwE
Since this board and it's members know everything, is there something else to cap the hole? The sump has a drain pipe going out the side of the house and it does not require pumping. As long as I see a dribble of water outside, I dont have any need to open the lid. The lid doesn't have to be a perfect seal - but enough to cut down the moisture in the basement and keep out any critters that travel inside using the pipe.
Thanks in advance for all the help and suggestions.
