I'm really not even sure what kind of motor it is was just hoping to fix so I could try and use on one of my grinders

Look to see if there's a wiring diagram inside that connector box?

¼ HP is not going to do much work but if you have a 4 inch stone and want to sharpen a pocket knife you are golden if you have a 10 inch stone and want to sharpen a lawnmower blade make a new plan.

For safety’s sake be sure to use a 3 prong plug with a switch on a GFIC circuit.

Let’s see some photos of the inside of the pecker head or connection box.

Gotcha so really not worth fix it for me is it worth anything or is it trash if it may be useful to someone let me know I'll take some more pictures

A quarter horse motor could run a small fan, miniature washing machine or a light duty Scroll Saw.

It's not going to run a grinder, but that doesn't relegate it to being trash. It's probably a damn good motor for the right application.
