I work out of my basement and I have been cleaning up water from flooding.

Came home from work Tuesday went to let the dog out , she had her tail between her legs and was acting like she was in trouble .

We went in the house and I heard water running in the basement .

I went down stairs and there is water every place , it was even coming out of the ceiling .

The whole kart shop is drown . The tools and machinery along with the wood working equipment and the raw hardwoods are all wet.

The wood that the shop lights are screwed to got wet and expanded .

It popped the screw heads and the lights started coming down .

Upstairs the hardwood floors are soaked same with the carpet .

Took our phones out.

You see they are replacing the the road and all the underground utilities on our street .

They have our house water coming from a fire hydrant and there must have been crud in the lines .

The valve in the toilet is a pressure sensing style and guess where the crud went .

It stuck wide open and overcame the drain tube in the tank.

The water was coming over the top of the tank all day .

We have Servpro drying it out .

What a mess , it going to take forever to get the shop back to where it was .

I have motors to get done .

The wife has karts covers to get done .

We just do not have time for this.

It is amazing how fast things rust .

ARRG......

Its also amazing how slow return phone calls are from insurance companies .

Their adjuster came out , she did not even bring a camera .

They are a big insurance company , I checked with the BBB and they have an F rating

with 1 claim out of over 300 settled .

She told me she has 30 days to decide if it's their fault and that they do not have to

pay replacement cost just what they feel its worth .

She also said that I should claim it on our home owners and that it wont raise our rates .

That is wrong . I spoke to adjuster and if he comes out it will raise our rates .

why should I have to use my insurance to cover what they did to my house .

I am at witts end here and do not know what to do next.

The loss on this in just vintage kart parts is in the thousands of dollars

alone .

I feel like they have already told me to go f myself .

Any thoughts ?
