Need Secret Santa help.

I kind of have my SS's gif planned out. Trying to get some of the minor details together before I ship it out.

As for whoever gets me; I'm 22, full time auto mechanic. Majority of my tools are snap on or craftsman. I could use ratcheting wrenches, a few impact sockets, standard hex sockets, taps/dies, coolant pressure tester, impact driver, etc. I have one cornwell wrench and I love it.

But I would be happy with anything.

I personally am into motorcycles,i tend to graviate towards my sk and snapon tools more then anything but i love all usa made brands. new or used doesnt matter to me

I've also picked up a 8 piece Snap-On hard handle screwdriver set in orange recently. As well as a set of Husky wrenches, both SAE and Metric, stubby and standard. I also picked up a pair of Snap-On needle nose pliers and slip joint pliers. Also, just got the Gear Wrench ratcheting flex wrenches, SAE and Metric from sears for $30 each. Well that about sums up my entire tool collection, so take that for what you will! I'll be happy with whatever I get!

I'd like any type of tool that I can use frequently, nothing obscure or anything that I won't be able to use a lot, would be nice. I enjoy anything dealing with vintage aircooled Volkswagen or camping.

I'm excited!

I have the same problem as that my SS recipient has been a member for a few years and only has a few hundred posts and in them he compliments others, mentions some stuff he has and doesn't ever list I am looking into this or considering that, and he doesn't list much of anything about his work, or hobbies. I've read all of his posts, I guess I'll have to google his geography and see what might apply.

As to me, my interests are, rebuilding my old John Deere 317 garden tractor, guitar playing, target shooting, fishing, golfing, photography. Tool wise, I'm open to anything, I'm a tool ***** who does mechanic/mechanical projects, woodworking, electrical work i.e. electrician and electronics, metalworking/machining, welding, plumbing, do a lot of field repairs on vehicles, farm implements, and like to help senior citizens with home and auto repairs. I have 13 roller cabinets (SO, Matco, MAC, Kennedy & Craftsman) over 20 chests and a few service carts and 11 Gerstners, which all are loaded, and I am not prejudice against any brand and would rather have a $2 tool that does a great job than a $1,000 tool that *****. This makes me realize that I need to spend a few weeks/months taking pictures of my stuff and posting them. I did that with some of my music gear, but that makes people thing I'm crazy, which I guess might be true.

If anyone cares, Most of my stuff is Snap On (Orange hard handles ). I like motorcycles (my Harley is my favorite), just got done setting up my garage with all the info gathered on this site and now it's time to decorate.

I am building a jeep liberty for offroad use, I could use a garage clock, I like snap on, sk, prefer polished stuff. Big ratchet fetish, am collecting 72/80 tooth snap on soft handle ratchets of various shapes and types, could use some garage art from jeep, snap on, sk. If you can find a hat in size 8-1/4 in any of those, that would rock too, but good luck with that...

Really I'd be cool with whatever, I like suprises and don't get too many. I think this crew can come up with probably better suprises than many of our families. Or get me something you think is great that maybe you'd like to share with someone that might not have given it a chance.

my guy literally has everything. i have set aside probably 10 items in last 2 months that were secret santa worthy. i dont think any of them will do him justice....

as for me, surprise me. i rather have something i wouldnt think to buy and try. i hate saying what to get me--never look a gift horse in the mouth.

I read those thread over and last years really got ugly at the end. It was so fun to read until then. I would suggest that this year the list of who didn't get a gift be done in private, and then ask for volunteers to send those people a second gift. I'm pretty excited about it this year and wouldn't mind sending out a few. Would be nice to see the thread maintain Christmas spirit.

My guy well get what he gets! lol i've doing some research and do have a couple ideas just have to narrow it down at this point. As far as for myself, I'm not too worried about duplicates as i have the work collection, home and trail tools, so there will probably be a tool box for it somewhere. I would however rather have a small quality item (used is okay as well) than a lot of cheap stuff.

I have a 2yr old daughter and a 3 month old daughter. I usually have enough tools on me to fix most things. This bothers my wife, as she thinks I shouldn't carry a multi-tool while I am in a suit, or slacks. I would like to get organized and be able to find what I am looking for. We moved a mile away from my "work" tools in June, and my new shop at our farm is still a work in progress, this means I have my tools in the cargo trailer and boxes, totes, and cans still.

For Christmas, I would love to have a few guys come and help finish the shop. I need organizational things, or supplys. My other posts tell alot as well.

At first I was looking at what my guy listed, but I think I'm going to have to go my own way on this too. I had no ideas based on his posts, so I was going to give him something I like, then he posted here. I think I'm still going to give him something I like....will be a suprise anyway.

I have already been doing some stalking on my recipient. I think I have the perfect items picked out.

As for myself. I don't post a huge amount here but I've been around a long time and try to add input when I feel I have something constructive to contribute. I'm not a professional mechanic either I just like to tinker with things and am restoring a couple of old 4 wheelers. Most of my tool collection is snap on but I do a fair amount of housework too. For me it's definitely the thought that counts so anything I get will be fine with me.

Last year was a great time and I'm looking forward to seeing how this year comes out!

Alright, I'll play fair. I don't have a lot of posts so I'll probably be hard to shop for and I'd rather not get a lump of coal after all

I just moved over to a bigger box and everything is looking a little lonely. Ratchets are my favorite tool to collect, but I love anything old and/or US made.

I can be kinda cryptic with my posts, so here goes. I like sports car racing. I'm into carpentry as well as mechanical pursuits. I am doing over my garage for both aesthetic (red and black theme) and convenience purposes. I don't have a Garage Mahal.

I have nerve damage in my hands and joint problems from neck and shoulders to my wrists, so I am slowly acquiring tools that take the load off my hands and joints. I own most basic tools in satisfactory quantites and qualities. I'm always looking for creative tool storage ideas.

Me? I don't really need many more tools - I haven't even been to Princess Auto lately!! But I do collect old magazines (e.g. early HotRod), die cast cars, vintage Ford truck or Galaxie manuals....
I'm a sucker for sentimentality: One of my most prized possessions is an Autoist hat. It was sent for my son Colby from Tony "Autoist" Underhill, who has since past. When I look at it I think: Tony, GJ, special people, reaching out, my son, far-away freinds.....

I am also into anything military, mostly tools, from WWII and Korea. Anything interesting found concerning the USAAF and later the USAF through the cold war period. Specifically things to do with SAC, TAC and early missile (Mace) programs.

Plomb WF stuff (though I have "most" of the common stuff), Bonney Streamline DOE wrenches as well as Bonney Bonaloy DBE wrenches are my collecting bug.

I dig Tri 5's as well as street rods.

Now, if I can just figure out what my guy likes, I'll be doing good. All my other shopping is done! Its not even Christmas eve either!

i could use some hanson trays, a snapon stubby ratcheting screwdriver (i have all other varients of the ratcheting SO drivers i believe) a rediculously oversized vise (ok i know i wont we getting that but i can wish cant i?) anything knipex as im just starting to get into them. maybe a SO/SK/equiv breaker bar or t handle. anything metric.

Sometimes I'm cryptic, and I realize my SS may have already sent something. But in case more information is wanted, here's my take:

My interests vary from tools to guns, knives, motorcycles, bbq, and baseball. I like quality and used in good shape is new to me. Brands I like are SO, Mac, Knipex, Wera, Geodore, Craftsman, BMW, Leatherman, Ruger. I like SO black hard handles. I have decent hand tool and power tool collections, but still have my eye out for a SO ratcheting screwdriver. We've just moved to a new place, and the garage is a work in progress.

Some of the stuff I've ordered my SS recipient has just come in, some yet to arrive. I should still have time to get it out in time. I'm giving stuff I like and that I think my guy will like. I hope that way of thinking works well in this scenario.
