So I want another tool box as part of organizing and consolidating a lot of accumulated tools, etc.
I am a DIY, not a professional wrench, so I do not need to spend the money for used Snap On, Mac, Matco, etc. I have watched CL, FM, OU, etc for a while within maybe 2 hours. It is a high cost area and I did not find anything that seemed like a deal.
I have looked at a lot of different boxes. I have gravitated toward the HF US General 44, the Craftsman 3000 (I have one which I like) and similar.
HD has the "iindustrial" boxes, which are heavier duty.
I am looking at the 52: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-H...inet-Set-in-Matte-Black-H52CH6TR9HD/302962883
These were $898 before the tariffs got going in the spring, now $998. Before the tariffs early this year there were $150 coupons on both top and bottom and $598 would have bought both, which I think is a pretty good value.
One of my local stores has a floor model which has been there a while which has been marked down to $748.
I can get maybe get a 10% off coupon to bring it down a little more.
I am looking for advice on how to beat them down some more on the price. Do I ask for a manager and try to negotiate? Obviously somebody wanted it gone so they marked it down.
Thanks in advance for strategic advice.
