Need Source(s) for measuring small orifices

Guys ... looking for a source where I can get some type of small wire "gauges" that I can use to measure orifices in brass air bleeds , idle feed restrictors etc in my carbs for fine tuning . Sizes will range from .024" to .080" .... also need a source for small drill bits to drill out the restrictors from say .067" to .071" etc . Sometimes only need to go 1 or 2 thous. and don`t want to spend a fortune .
Finally getting the carb close ..... I hope .

Easiest way to do it is with a set of acetylene tip cleaners and an 0-1 mike.

McMaster Carr has a nice wire gauge bit set for around $35.

Get a set of pin gauges.

Pin gauges are the way, cover every thousandth. Another way is shown in the OLD 1970's edition of the Q-Jet and Rochester book by Doug Roe...NOT the current edition which is much shorter.
Roe was a Rochester development engineer and shows how to use tapered jet reamers (available through Empi, VW souping places) to measure.

Pin gages. Tip cleaners are abrasive and can open the hole unintentionally.

Pin gages will get you in the ballpark.

If you need closer measurements I'd use compressed air, a manometer and comparative measurement to a known standard orifice.

Unless I'm missing something, all you need is a set of wire gage drill bits that go up to #80. Use the smooth end of the drill bit to measure the hole.

The **** end on drills are not as accurate as one would assume them to be.
