Very long Story....Modine blames Illinois' "Dirty Power" We have found in the Illinois area that we are have a power problem with your power supply company. What happens is there is an interruption of power "dirty power" and it's enough to close a set of contacts to turn the power exhauster on. Please contact Ron at Heinlein Supply 773-774-8616, and ask him to send you out a new wiring harness for the HD units. This harness will take care of the issue. If you need more help let me know.

• Monday 12-18-06 Informed of Revised Wire Harness to fix Exhaust motor.
• Contacted Ron @ HeinLein Supply 773.774.8616 - Revised Harness out of stock
• Brian @ Modine Will have one Aired Wednesday for Thursday Delivery.
• 12-20-06 Received New Harness - Have same problem when on call for heat - seems to only be during purge.
• 01-01-07 - Noticed burners turning off/on during heat cycle. Seems to be from cycling exhaust motor.
• 01-2-07 - Talked with Brian and other rep. Recommended new "Manual" Honeywell T-Stat and to jump the T-stat leads.
• 01-03-07 - Jumped terminals - seemed worse. - Installed new T-stat - same problems.
• 01-04-07 - Talked w/ Brian and Rep from ??? Sending New Valve, Board, & Harness
• 01-08-07 - received Valve and Board (No Harness)
• 01-09-07 - Left VM for Brian, informing on lack of new harness
• 01-10-07 - New board and Valve installed
• 01-13-07 - Acted up again - Jumped t-stat at board - checked 120v wiring/ground connections - pulled off tee cap in vent.
• 01-15-07 - Talked with Jon and Brian - Sending New Unit.
• 01-18-07 - Received UPS Return Labels
• 01-19-07 - Received New Unit - Beat up packaging, Dented Panel, Fins, Springs fell off.
• 01-20-07 - Installed new unit - Pressure switch fault on initial cycle. Refitted hose…fixed.
• 01-20-07 - Rollout/limit fault occurred a few times…????
• 01-22-07 - Returned original unit via ups Tracking# 1z5809779042290496
• 01-23-07 - Verified Delivery @ 7:48 am Signed by Hoechel.
• 02-25-07 - Still having problems, decided to call Bryan
• 02-26-07 - Talked w/Bryan, John - Tried Heat anticipator - nope
• 02-27-07 - Talked w/Bryan - Suggested taking off t-cap.
• 03-04-07 - Pulled off t-cap during malfunction to "open vent" still problems without even making it to ignition.
• 03-05-07 - Talked w/Bryan - Sent install pictures - Says it looks good to him.
• 03-10-07 - Bypass main switch - No better • Ran Electrical from alternative outlet on different breaker - No better
• 03-15-07 - Sent Video file of unit malfunctioning via USPS
And I'm still with a crappy unit. They said they would send someone out from Virginia but they pulled out of that. Now they're in the process of possibly taking it back and giving me my money back. I will then buy the Mr Heater.
