Chadstoolbox has poor delivery. On August 11, 2007 I ordered two items from the Chadstoolbox website. Took 3 weeks to get a partial order. Still have not shipped remainder. I paid by credit card, will be stopping payment and re order the missing items from someone else.

I ordered a batch of Wiha screwdrivers and bits on 10/15/07 and paid via CC, order status was shipping in 4-7 days until 10/31/07 when it said partial shipment, but I still don't have a tracking number. Missing item is a #3 phillips diamond tip bit, so I will survive without it, but I could have used the rest of my order a week ago.

Price was low, about as low as anybody else, but the other vendor I talked to was willing to have Wiha drop ship my order directly to me.

I have no plans to order from them again.

I've had several positive experiences there, placed many orders, backorders happen... all thier stuff comes from Germany, not across the state. Proactive communication may be lacking a little, but all my emails questions have been answered quick, normally in a minute or 2. I use their live chat to check stock sometimes before ordering also.

I've been trying to find online stores that sell the complete Wera and Knipex lineup (or at least the odd pieces I need), and chadstoolbox.com seems to be the only one!

This isn't the first negative comment I've seen for them. They have no order tracking, and no stock indication. They imply lowest prices, but they really aren't, and making applications for "price protection" for twenty individual items wouldn't be fun.

I'd love to hear of any alternatives out there. Even a drop ship (newark.com offers this with a good portion of the lineup) would be fine.

I've heard of these guys being recommended before, no personal experience with them:

http://www.aktoolsonline.com/

I ordered some pliers from those guys a few months ago and they jerked me around for weeks before delivering with all kinds of excuses.
I can not recommend them after that experience.:spit:

I've had the same experience with AK Tools... never again, I've only dealt with Chads for years now for all me German tools and could not be happier.

Maybe if I keep plugging them they will send me more nice clothes with my next order:beer:

I bought some stuff awhile back from Chads, I was not impressed with how they packaged it and I'm thinking it took around 15 days to get here but I did get exactly what I ordered and despite the crappy packaging it was undamaged and the price was good.

Another experience with chads(empty)toolbox.com:

Ordered three Hazet wrenches on 11/24/09, emailed chadstoolbox about the order status on 12/15/09, they replied in a couple of days telling me the wrenches would ship from Hazet USA and they'd follow up with me, never heard anything more, sent them email cancelling the order today (01/05/10).

Probably should email them to find out whether they can actually ship something before ordering.

UPDATE: they say they're charging me a cancellation fee, but they didn't say how much. I assume it's 15%.

I placed an order on the 23rd of December. Figuring it was the holidays, I was not expecting it to ship quickly. On the 24th I got a held to complete email from Chadstoolbox, saying nothing, no expected ship date, no reason why or what was being waited on. Finally I emailed them on the 3rd and asked where my order was. I got a email saying it was now complete and shipping the 4th. I recieved a confirmation email that it was shipped.

Chads is great for prices (catch a coupon and just try to beat their WERA prices, I couldnt.) but you have to be ready to wait.

I had good luck, with my 4 orders from them. Also with Wera you can use the testthebest code and 15% off.... Also the 1/2 kit I ordered did take a few weeks to come in as it shipped directly from wera, but that was fine with the holidays I think it took 14 days. Also the 3/8 zyklops set was backordered but I knew that when I ordered it. I got them to meet all the prices I could find and on the 1/4 set i got back 54 dollars from them because I found a much better price, and on one order i didn't use the code, but he gave me a pair of knipex to make up for it and I was happy as could be. Also my first order 12 zyklops extensions and 2 bit holders I got in 2 days, and with the free shipping over 200, it was hard to pass up.

Seems like a short wait over the Christmas season for an out of stock item? I usually click on the button for partial shipping, its normally only 1 or 2 items that hold the order from shipping all at once.

I am looking at placing another order maybe a little smaller than the last about 150-200 but still their prices and quality are great and I had good luck with stuff being packed really well in flat rate USPS boxes which I really like.

By no means am I upset about the shipping, ect. I think its a short weight too.
I did not know I could do a partial shipment. I do wish they had a bit better site/tracking setup. It would be very beneficial to their business.

agree on that one, there is no automation like amazon for tracking. But when I've asked they email tracking info in a couple minutes.

Final update on this experience with chadstoolbox.com: They told me yesterday they'd check, by the end of the day, with their Hazet importer to see whether the wrenches had shipped. After hearing nothing, I emailed them this afternoon, and they replied saying the wrenches had not shipped, and they were crediting my account. A little while later they credited my Paypal account for the full amount, so they didn't charge me a cancellation fee after all. I'm satisfied.

I used Paypal for this transaction. Paypal says the seller must ship the item within 7 days to qualify for seller protection. The buyer has 45 days to register a "Item Not Received" claim, and then 20 days after that to upgrade the claim to a "Dispute." I was at day 38, so I feel like I gave them ample time. Without even an approximate future shipping date, I wasn't willing to wait any longer.

I wish them well, but I'm not compatible with their business model.

I've given up on Hazet, I think they should too. Hazet has very poor representation here in the US, its really not their fault. The importing agent seems to have no inventory and everything takes 6-8 weeks to come in from Germany. Chads used to stock it a few years ago when I bought some, but they said sales didn't justify cash ******* with product parked on the shelves, which I guess is understandable. Seems thats the case nationwide for Hazet since the importer never has anything in stock either.

Got all my tools today. Shipped in nearly the exact specified time. Everything was there, well packed. I was so happy to get them, I placed another order for the 7" pliers wrench!
Wish they had a better discount for us GJ members, but 5% off my next order helped :).

Got the majority of my $600 Chads order yesterday...2 Priority boxes. Everything was packed quite well. I was pleased with my overall experience...they were always very fast to communicate with me about my order, calculated the final price perfectly (I had several price matches, a coupon, etc. and lately it seem no one can handle such things properly!), and my order was shipped very quickly. I'm very happy and would use them again for sure!

FYI, the items I'm waiting on are some Wiha items to fill out my sets. The Wiha stuff now ships directly from the distributor.

I have ordered from Chadstoolbox and I am not very satisfied. You have no idea if the item is in stock when you order. Most of the items they carry are NOT in stock. You will have to wait 6-10 weeks to receive anything. I am currently on week 10! :( I feel they should let you know if it is in stock or not BEFORE you place an order.

I returned two socket sets and they were also very slow. I had to send an email letting them know that a delivery attempt had beed made on the return (they picked it up about 2 days before the item was shipped back to me because no one had claimed it ).

I would order Hazet from Samstagsales.com. The prices are slightly higher (about $1 to $5), but you know if it is in stock and shipping is lightning fast (the order is typically shipped by the end of the same day).

I just place an order on friday from chads, a bunch of wera bits and bit holders. They emailed a few hours later and said order status was "order held for complete shipment", and emailed them and they said eta to get the stuff in they were missing was a week, but if it didn't come in they would ship out what they had for free and the rest when they got them in. Sounds fine to me and I found this out a few hours after I placed my order and got the 15% off.

Another disgruntled chadstoolbox customer here. Received pliers with the wrong grips. They asked me to return them promising to reimburse return shipping. I send them via UPS to their address on their website via UPS. Delivery confirmed, follow up via email to make sure they received package. Jackson, WY address does not accept returns. Chad tell me the package was refused and will be returned. Contact UPS and of course package was not refused. This company lies to it's customers.

Chad gave me a free pair of knipex because I didn't use the code on my fist order. He always seems to be a great person to deal with. I would talk to them and they will make it right!!!!

From this being the first(and probably the last, unless this post inspires Mr hoonjr) odds are good its a competitor or someone that just has an extra large beef with them for some reason. I just can't imagine an unresolved problem. I've placed dozens of orders there myself, and there was one case where I got the wrong thing(from a WIHA drop ship) They told me to just keep it and they sent out the correct item. Over the years they've sent me hats, a fleece pullover, lots of odds and ends free tool "samples"

No personal beef other than their customer service. Here's the chain of emails. I guess what bothers me is that if they had ever told me the "correct" address I would have been happy to ship it to the "correct" one. I also checked with UPS and they confirmed the package was delivered and not sent back.

Any suggestions? The UPS site shows the package was delivered and signed for so I don't think it will be returned.

I did get a defective tool in yesterday and they gave me the address to ship it back, which ***** I am out 5.00 to send a bad tool back... Not chads fault, but I was hoping for something better than having to pay for shipping back.

Placed my first order last week. Couldn't be happier. Wera bit driver and laser tip #3 Phillips. In the notes field I asked for the 15% disscount and a free Wera craftform plus bottle opener (VERY RAD). Got a prompt email back tellling me that they included the discount and an opener even though the opener is for facebook friends only. That was a few days ago. The package was at my door last night in time for an after dinner beer.

It appears chads is going to give me a bottle opener and something else for the hassle because he has shown that in the past few months all I have bought from him was wera, and about 1500$ in stuff with the discount. He said I didn't need to send it back, but it was to late and in the mail as I have been waiting a few weeks for the tool to come in. They are a stand up company as far as I am concerned. Just not sure why I was asked to send it back if I didn't have to. Oh well as long as they make it right I will be happy.

Update Chads sent out my order today with the last of the bits and also, with the replacement bit holder that was defective. Also they are sending me a bottle opener along with a free pair of knipex interal snap ring pliers model 48 11 J1. They have made it good with me. Another thumbs up to great support from a great reseller!!!!!:beer:

Funny you mention that...I had the exact same issue, also with a Wiha drop ship. They handled it the same way -- let me keep the wrong tool, and sent out the right one very quickly. I think Wiha fulfillment is back in house, based on some subtle things Chad said in his return email to me, the speed with which I got the right tool, and where it was shipped from.

Incidentally, some decent specials advertised in the last box I got, good through end of March. I don't have it here in front of me, but Wera chiseldrivers were included!

We are an Australian Tool company and were unable to get some Stahlwille torque accessories locally so we purchased these items online from ChadsToolbox on 8th of June 2011. After numerous emails to a nameless person who replies to my emails, we were advised that the items were dispatched on the 4th of Aug 2011. Its the 13th of September  and we have not yet received these items and unable to track the consignment.

We are constantly fobbed off when we attempt to contact the company....my recommendations would be to sincerely avoid this business.:shocking:

I'd actually have to counter against the negativity associated with ChadsToolbox. I had read a couple of 'negative' reviews and was very hesitant in ordering from them, but in the end wound up placing an order anyway because of their low prices and great selection.

I was informed that there was an item that they'd have to get shipped from Europe, which they notified me of immediately after placing my order. At every step of the way, they kept constant communication with me via email and on Facebook if you can believe it.

Once the items arrived at their warehouse, it was just a matter of 2-3 days till they arrived at my doorstep. Received some free goodies for my 'troubles' and a special coupon code which I could apply to my next order which would knock off a pretty little sum.

In the end, I was very pleased with them and found that any and all communication attempts were met with a timely and friendly response.

Sorry to hear from everyone who's had a bad experience with them.

I'm not real happy about ordering from chadstoolbox, as their customer service is pretty poor but in the end I keep crawling back and have so far placed about $2000 worth of orders with them, mainly because there is no real alternative that I have found that will ship to me in Australia.

I have found the customer service only respond to about 50% of my emails, the other 50% of the time they read them and then ignore them and I have to re-email my question again until I get someone who sends a reply. Whenever something is not in stock and I ask for a timeframe of it arriving, it seems their standard response is "next week" regardless of when it is arriving. I have waited for 9 weeks for an item before, getting told it was coming "next week" about 5 times.

Sometimes they are inaccurate when informing you which items are/aren't in stock as well. I had a $550 order and asked which items they were waiting on and was told it was one $14 pair of vice grips and a $1.20 phillips head bit. I told them to just knock the out of stock items off the order and ship it now and what happens? ****! $350 of my order is removed, and the 2 items I was told they were waiting were part of the few items they actually did send. Bit of a **** around when shipping was still like $50 regardless so I paid $50 shipping on $200 of items. They also sent it in a small USPS box, which on the USPS website costs $13.95 to ship to Australia, what a rip off.

Anyway I have found the best way to deal with them is to order your stuff, completely forget about it for 3.5-4 months then get a nice surprise in the mail.

I feel your pain as a fellow Australian. For stahlwille stuff I have found www.werkzeuggigant.com to be much better. Prices are SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper, shipping times were as they said they would be, and the customer service is great, except for occasionally recieving messages in german instead of English lol. I'm sure this would have been rectified if I pointed it out, but it was no problem as my boss is german and was happy to translate it for me
