My nephew is 12 and doesn't have his own set of tools. I figured I'd change that at Christmas. He rides dirtbikes, and his dad has a shop full of tools, but none that my nephew can call his own. I remember getting my first set of real tools when I was young and feeling like I became a man. I didn't get near the setup he's getting, but it taught me a lot about respecting what's yours and how to work with your hands.
I'm still adding stuff, but this is what I dug out of my tool chests that I don't use anymore. The ratcheting wrenches are SAE so I'm going to get him a set of metric on black Friday. Also going to buy him the 10pc Husky t-handle hex wrenches from HD. Gotta round out the sockets as well, I'll probably use a 25% off coupon at harbor freight for that.
What do you guys think? I'm hoping he enjoys them, I know I would have.
