New 13,900 BTU electric heater

About a month ago I picked up a portable electric construction heater from Northern Tool. It is 13,900 BTU and 4000 watts. Finally got my garage electric hooked up and wired. I went out to the garage this morning it was 35F within an hour it raised the temp to 64F! I should note that the garage is 16x 28 and not insulated yet, although it does have Tyvek under the siding. I made mine a wall mount unit by utilizing an old wall TV mount that pivots so that you can aim it. Overall I am pleased with the unit. The only negative is the fan has only one speed and is a bit noisy. I will try to get a pic posted later.

Those little heaters really work well! I have a 4800 watt unit heating my new shop and I love it.

Hurry up with your pics...I'd like to see how you adapted the TV mount to work.

I used one of these in my old garage. Worked very well.

But please be careful! The sides and top of heater can get very hot, and a melting ratchet strap sounds like a beautiful fire starter

It might be fine, but run it for a while and check to make sure. In any case, congrats, and enjoy some heat!

You'd be better off leaving it on the floor. Where it is most of your heat is going to go right out the soffit.

Slick idea using the TV mount. I agree with jvitez though...you'll want to strap it down with something that won't melt or burn, the cases do get quite hot. Right now mine sits on top of a metal cabinet.

Looks just like my Dayton 3VU36 . I have been using it a couple years now in my 20X23 2 car and it does a great job of keeping it warm out here .

Thanks for the concern, I plan on using some metal clips and small sheet metal screws to fasten the base to the TV mount. BTW those mounts are surprisingly sturdy! Now I need to figure out a use for the other identical TV mount LOL!

Well, obviously that would be where you would put the air conditioner
