New 3 car in progress

Hey guys, just did a quick introductory post.
Literally just wrapped up the exterior of the garage. It’s about 30 feet wide by 23 deep flat roof.

I used 2x6 for framing, brick exterior and stone for the front.

Electrically I have a 100 amp sub panel.
I ran a 3/4 gas line for a heater and possibly a future bbq line.
Hot and cold water and acouple cat6 wires for internet cameras etc.
Roughed in acouple ceiling speakers as well.

Here’s acouple shots.
14 foot double door, 10 foot single door. Side mount motors. For the single side I got the high tracks for a future drive on hoist.

Used 5/8 fire rated drywall on most walls. Spray foamed the ceiling, and where the water pipes are. Used r24 everywhere else.

I’ll probably start posting shots as I start working on the inside finishes. Just picked up acouple NewAge cabinets and I still need to the speakers / ceiling lights etc.

-Flooring I’m leaning into racedeck as
Opposed to epoxy.

In regards to what will be inside I have acouple toys which I’ll probably post down the road.

Haha I hear ya. I guess it depends what people are into but I imported an evo 9 from the states acouple years ago so I have that and a bagged o Audi A3. I’ll post some pictures later

Got the newage cabinets installed today. The quality is really amazing. Very well put together and easy to install.
Tomorrow I’ll do the ceiling lights and a garbage run but things are finally coming together.

Today was another good day at the garage. Installed 10 of these RAB led fixtures. I didn’t want the two foot wide lights, and I absolutely hate the acrylic lenses. Wanted something frosted with a nice clean finish and these came around at my supplier. Ended up picking them for 39 Canadian each, which you really can’t go wrong at 5100 lumens each x10 in my opinion.

Also installed these Polk Audio ceiling speakers which I’ll be looking to possibly pick up a Sonos amp in the near future or if anybody has any other ideas let me know.

Only thing left in the ceiling are the lift master garage
Motion lights which I forgot to bring over but I’ll get to it soon.

Fair enough. I guess I started this thread off backwards but I’ll try to keep it somewhat organized or at least catch up until the present time.

Here’s a shot before I started anything. Recently bought the house. It had this side shed and a fairly decent sized shed in the back that actually had a small sub panel with no garage. I actually ended up tracing the wiring back to my deck and gave my trades two separate 15amp circuits to plug into which ended up working out well.

Proceeded to knock both of these sheds down to get ready for the garage build once the permits came in / surveys etc.

Just curious as to what made you go with putting the lights in parallel with the garage door? I am getting ready to do some lighting and wondering if there was a specific reason. My current garage has the lights perpendicular to the garage door

To be honest I put the lights that way for two reasons.
1 for looks, as my in ceiling speakers are centered the other way and therefore that section of the ceiling would be super busy which I don’t like and

2 for the “walkway / work area. Plan on having a hoist at some point

I don’t think that matters too much to be honest but I could be wrong. I have 6 windows on my garage door that lets in a lot of light from the front anyway but at about 51,000 lumens I should be fine lol.

Hi, very nice exterior, I like the color of the stone and the sloped roof. Just curious why there is a number on the front? Seems like you wouldn't need house numbers on the garage when it is behind your house.

Thanks Jayman I appreciate it. Honestly my brothers a bricklayer and they had the extra number on site so the super let them bring it home.

Honestly I don’t mind it. I roughed in the soffit pots to shine on it so you can actually see it from fairly far but at least everybody will know the house number when they order food after some drinks [emoji481] [emoji481]

Front stone progress and about 30 tones of recycled gravel brought in by wheel barrel to fill the center up to get ready for the slab

I did it in two sections. A dump truck holds about 22 tones so I brought it to the back and went to go rent the machine to compact it all. Took acouple day break then brought the rest of the gravel and rented the machine again. Hopefully no little to no cracks!

Drawing / inspector didn’t call for any rebar but decided to put some anyway [emoji481]

Slab poured finished by hand with a trowel.
We had a helicopter on site but unfortunately the cement was taking too long to settle but it still came
Out pretty good

Honestly 14 seems completely fine to me. I don’t necessarily plan on parking two cars on that side anyway but I can definitely try it out and let you know.
My plan is to have a hoist on the “single” door side so I’ll have both of my toys stored there and the wife can use the 14 for her daily use with lots of space around JUST in case haha
