Very nice. That’s one heck of a number for power on that motor!

Thanks Jayman I appreciate it. Honestly my brothers a bricklayer and they had the extra number on site so the super let them bring it home.

Honestly I don’t mind it. I roughed in the soffit pots to shine on it so you can actually see it from fairly far but at least everybody will know the house number when they order food after some drinks [emoji481] [emoji481]

Say it demarcates the year of build completion.

Drywall.

Definitely a big stage for me. I spent a lot of time screwing in backups for my garage heater, tire racks, tv bracket, cabinets and acouple more things so this stage was definitely one of the most rewarding parts.

Almost spring time over here can’t wait to turn on water to wash the concrete then give it a sealer.

Probably going to go with race deck flooring and a 4 post sooner then later

I ordered samples from several dealers before making my final decision. Once you get these in your hands it's much easier to make a decision. The thickness and size differences are pretty meaningful. Also, does your garage have an entrance lip?

That’s a good idea. For now it has a lip but once I do the asphalt it should be a smooth transition in

Love these garage doors! Have me thinking of replacing mine with something different like this. [emoji106]

Also love the car builds!

Thank you! Trying to keep it fairly modern looking. I’ll have the front door changed to something similar after as well.
Here’s a shot of the evo at a local show that got cancelled because of the virus on Sunday.

Although the engine bay isn’t the prettiest, evo bays generally aren’t. I’ve kept the acd pump, power steering and AC and still managed to pump out 720 wheel horsepower out of this built motor on E-85.

It amazes me how much grunt those little engines can make. It looks good from here! :)

Yeah no kidding. Fully build a 4 cylinder, big turbo and hold on lol.

Just ordered a 50” hisense tv or whatever today from air
Miles. I knew one day it would come in handy! Lol, good enough it’ll be used for random YouTube and things like that. It says it takes about 4 weeks to come in so I’ll pickup a tv wall mount in the mean time and post a picture once it’s installed

Today was another good day at the garage. Installed 10 of these RAB led fixtures. I didn’t want the two foot wide lights, and I absolutely hate the acrylic lenses. Wanted something frosted with a nice clean finish and these came around at my supplier. Ended up picking them for 39 Canadian each, which you really can’t go wrong at 5100 lumens each x10 in my opinion.

Also installed these Polk Audio ceiling speakers which I’ll be looking to possibly pick up a Sonos amp in the near future or if anybody has any other ideas let me know.

Only thing left in the ceiling are the lift master garage
Motion lights which I forgot to bring over but I’ll get to it soon.

Could you explain a bit on how you wired for the ceiling lights? Did you have a box for each fixture or did you have one box for each row and then link the fixtures together?

I can't see any wiring between the fixtures so it seems each one has it's own supply from above the finished ceiling.

Yup wired them all in ceiling with plastic octagons for exterior. Didn’t want to see the wiring attached from one light to another.
Also another reason why I went with the rab lights is that they have octagon knockouts in the middle so mounting them was a breeze.

If I ever need more lighting I could just attach them together at a later date but at 5100 lumens per fixture it’s definitely bright enough for me

Hey guys quick question.

Under heavy rain is it normal for some rain water to get in under the garage doors?

Went by the other day and noticed some on one of the doors. Could be humidity but I’m thinking mostly the rain fall. Any tips / tricks?

It can occur under heavy rains but only because of other factors:
1) Door gasket isn't fully seated against the concrete (assumes a smooth concrete surface). The stock gaskets are just ok usually. There are more compliant versions. The better option is to have a notch for the door seal that is below the surface. This unfortunately has to be done prior to the floor pour.
2) Driveway slope. You don't show pictures of the finished driveway but if it's pitched toward the door, you can get water forcing it's way under the door seal. If the pitch can't be changed, you can add a trench drain along the front of the garage.

Hey Wasfast.

Makes sense. Honestly I don’t live there yet so I haven’t really seen at what point water gets in etc but I’ll take a look at the gasket for any tears or anything odd.

In regards to my driveway it’s unfinished for now. Infront of the garage door I have about 4-5” of finished concrete where the door sites and then I would say the another 4-5” drop to the unfinished flooring on the driveway if that makes sense.

I guess we’ll see!

Got my racedeck flooring sample today too. Very excited. They do a great job with customer service over there.

Mounted the 50” yesterday.
Looks like a 20” lol.

Need to grab one of those Samsung converters so I can use the ceiling speakers with the tv.
Possibly pickup an android box at some point too ran a 4k HDMI cable in the pipe too.

Any other ideas? I have 2 cat6 runs into my house ontop of the cabinet that I’ll use as a shelf [emoji481]

I see that you could build so close to the property lines since you used fireproof construction on the exterior.

Bill

That’s correct. Everything was done with permits inspectors committee of adjustments etc. Also had to use 5/8 drywall on the walls. Being a flat roof really helps when it comes to using square footage.

Anybody recommend an AV receiver?
I guess it would need to be 4k HDMI capable with internet.

I would just have 2 ceiling speakers and possibly a sub at a later date so doesn’t need too many outlets.

We have the same rules here in Detroit. You can build right on the property line if fireproof.

Flat roofs don't go with the roof styles of most residential, but you can match, complement or contrast.

Here. many 2 story, 2 flat brick residences had extremely steep roofs and a flat roofed detached garage with brick walls and parapets.

Why do you think you would need a 4K HDMI AV receiver? You could probably get a solid 5 channel receiver with a Optical Input to have the TV sound through there.

Then again receivers have come down in price and the inputs/outputs they have now a days gives you lots of flexibility.

I don’t necessarily need one. It’s just the TV has 4k capability and the wire so I figured I might as well lol.

I’m not too familiar with the optical input but I’ll definitely research it now.

I basically just want the tv sound to be together with a future sun and two ceiling speakers. So YouTube etc, then I’d like to have another input for a streaming device or a PlayStation or something for the kids that’s why
