Easy way to drain water lines is to add a frost free down hill from the shop. Add one shut off to shut off the main before the T to the barn and frost free and one after the T to the barn.

When winter comes around shut off the main then open the frost free and all the valves inside the shop. The water should drain out to the frost free. A little help from the exhaust end of a shop vac should help it along.

When all is good, shut the valve to the shop, open the main and your in business again with at least a frost free near the shop.

Last of the steel went in yesterday. And started the trim pieces. Debating about trying to hang garage doors ourselves or hiring it done. Dad did his about 15 yrs ago so he's atleast done them but we're running out of time to work on closing it up before winter

Garage doors are one of those things that are counter-productive to do yourself. The door outfits can sell you a better door installed for less than you can buy one and install it yourself.

Found a guy to install the garage doors on the side. Haven't heard when he's gonna have time to do them tho, hoping over xmas

Been a while since ive updated. Not alot has went on with the building due to working on house projects inside over the winter. Ended up getting the ridge, rake and gutters on. Guy I had lined up for the doors fell through so I'm waiting till concrete now. Waiting for the inspector to sign off now so I can pour concrete. Also had the property re-survoyed and have more to the property line then I thought so I will be hauling more fill in to level and make a spot to park the trailer on the side on the buildingfc2baa0fb1c7253cac24a18a88744e01.jpg3193082c57b42a46a8c04753921fbf6e.jpg

Depends on your location... and the size of the doors.

It's hard to beat Clopay doors from Home Depot for smaller doors sizes.

Takes 3 weeks to get somebody out in our neck of the woods. They schedule multiple jobs and stay in hotels overnight to defer the travel costs.
