Just got the new lift installed. When I purchased the new lift I was told the frame cradle pads where not available and on back order. That just sucked, so I am going make my own but need some help from you Guys as to dimensions of BendPaks older model or something similar to compare with. What I have in mind is using a section of 5" x 5" x 3/8" tubing I have. I am thinking of sawing off a 5" piece and then sawing it across to form a 'U' , 5" long x 5" wide x ?? high
. The post size of BendPak is 2 3/8". I would like some advice as to: will the 5x5x3/8 tubing work ok, would you use cold or hot rolled shafting and would you drill a 2 3/8 hole in bottom to insert post and weld or just **** weld ? As to the rubber how thick would I want in bottom ? Tools are no problem as I have large bandsaw, mag drill and 2 3/8 carbide bit, lathe and welder which should allow making these in short time, once I figure out what to do. Sorry for being so long winded.
