Hi everbody im new to the gj but have been looking on this site for about a year. In the begining i was going to have soneone else build my 24x30 garage addition but after looking at this site and getting 3 estiments ranging from $30.000 to $49.000 and with a budget of $22.000 the only way i was going to get my space to work on my projects was to build it my self. Being a mechanic and not a framer i new it wasnt going to be easy thank god for all the help from my freinds who gave up there weekends. After reading alot of build post on this site and seeing everyone build there dreams i was ready to build my own dream. Here is how i spent my funds $900.oo permit and variance hearing/ $4500.00foundation and flat work/$1200.00 dirt work/$14.000 lumber and supplies. With help from my freinds all the work was done with out hiring any thing out. The foundation and brick work was the hardest part of the build. In the end my addition is a 26 x 40 plus the 20 x 20 i stared out with. I now have lots of room cant wait to finish it this summer. Oh ya forgot to to tell you about the infloor hydronic heat will post some pic of the build [http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/member.php?u=113623]
