New concrete garage floor

Hi, I am new to this forum and could use some guidance. I (via a contractor) am building a detached 24 x 24 detached garage. The garage slab was poured about 10 days ago. The slab and the footings were poured at the same time. I watered the slab regularly once it was sufficiently hard for the first 7 days. When I started watering I noticed 6 or 7 low spots where the water pooled. These low spots are between 1/4 and 1/2 inch deep. The contractor says no problem.

I poured my own 20x30 garage floor in the 70s with father and I know we got it more level than that. Is this a big problem? I don’t want to do a leveling overlay but I will epoxy the floor in about 6 weeks. Thanks for the advice. Jim

May I suggest you update your profile with a better location (Detached 2 car is simply not helpfull) as in future you may find that helps. Specially given this is a very global forum. Often you will find subjects may get different answers depending on locations and regulations.

I am in the high desert of Southern California. I am and old guy and I’m pretty much done with Vettes, Mustangs and Motorcycles. My focus is on helping 4 grandkids who will start going to college in 4 years. The lack of response to my thread indicates to me that that these dips on my new concrete floor, while not ideal, is not a serious problem. Thanks, Jim

Contractor did a poor job. Should never have been 1/2" low spots. If your not fussy it won't matter. Personally I'd fix it with bags of level cure.

Can't speak for a specific brand, but adhesion will be best on new Crete, not old,sealed or dirty.
