Check for side and rear lot line set back requirements. It's doubtful you can build that close to and adjoining lot.My backyard isn't square. Is this plan feasible? See attached pictures.

Also I understand the shape you have chosen for maximum car parking with minimal footprint but I would suggest squaring the "left" side making a little extra storage space.

City said I can build 2ft from property line as long as the garage is at least 10ft from the house. In this design, it is 16ft at its closest point. I assume the 2ft is measured from the soffit and it the base?
I ment leave it stick out to allow the eaiser drive in but just square that corner upI had it square bit changed it which would allow me to drive in/out easier and it occupies what would be unused yard space. Or do you mean still have part of the structure stick out there but square it?
See that probably also depends on building style. Its not unheard of to have 2ft+ overhang one eves and gables.in my area , when they say the setback ,it is the building that has to be set back 2' , the soffits & trough were something like 8" from the property line. ask your zoning dept to confirm.

That makes sense.right, when I built my garage, they said the setback was 2'. I asked if that was to the eaves or the building, they said to the building. the eaves need minimum 8" from the property line. I did 1' overhang then the trough . If I wanted 2' overhang & trough I would have had to set the building back sufficiently to allow an 8" clearance on the trough to the neighbors.

OP, are you sure you want to use up so much of the rear yard and making the peoperty less salable?

Thanks everyone for the feedback. Probably not going to happen as i won't be able to convince the wife. She wants to move. I want to stay and improve.

Yeah without seeing side by side difference i think so but yeah square is eaiser to buildI updated the attached drawings; is that what you had in mind?
