I saw these today in Lowes. I had already seen the 3/8" version last year, but the 1/4" and 1/2" are new at least around here. The 1/2" has a pretty big head, but the 1/4" isn't bad.

They are selling the 3/8" by itself now, but it is cheaper to buy the set with the crappy universal sockets and just toss them and keep the ratchet.

oh wow. I was in lowes today but I didnt really check the tools. I was checking out lumber and the Bosch cordless stuff. I bought the 3/8 set last year when it was super cheap, but have yet to take it out of the package! lol. I guess I could have used it for something but haven't really been moved to pull it out. I think when I bought it, they were blowing them out at like 10 or 15 bucks?? They had tons of those 3/8 sets last year around this time.

Picked one of these up yesterday in the store and played with it. The one I picked up wouldn't work in the display case in one direction at all. I decided against it. Great idea, not quite ready for primetime.

Still prototypes from being something great someday. Needs more fine tuning give it to snap on.

They ran the 3/8" version with universal style sockets on sale last year for $9.95, so I expect they'll do the same again this year. I picked one up then, and have been somewhat unimpressed. The first one I bought had issues with the quick-release detent, and wouldn't lock sockets in place. Ended up swapping it out in store, and found a few others had the same issue. The one I have now has worked as advertised, but I have yet to really encounter a situation where it was necessary. As such, I rarely even use it. I might appreciate it a little more if it was my only ratchet, but considering there are probably 8-10 3/8" ratchets in my main box, it usually gets overlooked.

That being said, the set isn't a bad deal for under $10. If they would make one with a 10-12" handle, I'd probably pick one up (assuming it can handle the extra torque).
