Well..big to me anyway. I picked this up yesterday. I basically bought it as a favor for a guy. Due to a physical disability the owner just wanted it out of his garage. I gave him 20 dollars for it.

It's a Parker 974 1/2. I don't know how old it is. I believe a member here had a great thread on restoring one, but I can't seem to find it now. It appears to be in decent shape. The only flaw I can find is that one of the replaceable jaws has loosen up. It looks like someone may have tried to reset them at one time...that and the surface of the jaws themselves are worn pretty smooth.

I honestly have no use for this...let alone any table to mount in on. For now, it's just gonna sit on the floor where I put it...I'm already tired of moving it around. Anyhoo..here's some pictures.

First, welcome to the forum!

Second, that's a smoking deal for $20!

Last, but not least, the thread you seek is probably this one.

Hope that helps.

I'm in the Parker Rescue and don't want to see them neglected or abused. Since you're already tired of it, just crate it up and I'll send a FedEx pickup tag. ;>)

Strange how things work but just today in the Columbus CL someone has listed: "Very large bench Vise $850.00 Dollars it must weigh 80 lbs.".

I can just see people are running like mad to buy that vise!

Good score to the op.
