Hi All,
New home owner here with a question. My garage has a large section that collects melted snow from our car (I assume because the floor level is lower at that spot).
What can I do myself to fix this?

All I can say is - if the low spot is out of the way then you are lucky. Most garages that I have seen are that way. I actually end up spending some time in the garage during winter with a squeegee and a dust pan getting the lakes out of the garage. Seems that it will not actually collect under the truck - it spreads out from it. Fortunately, we don't get much snow so I can live with it.
You're talking about modifying an entire slab - don't see any easy way to do that. Even if you fill in the low spot that just means that it will spread out over an even larger area :(

Dont park running driving cars in the garage :D. Thats my solution if it runs well enough to get covered in sludge/snow it doesnt go in the garage ( only projects allowed in the garage ) .

I use my leaf blower, blowing towards the door which disipates the puddle down to nothing by the time I get to the door.

I don't want to hijack this thread but I have a solution and a question to with it. I think all garages do this I know mine has a few low spots and my parents did have a few spots that puddled up pretty good. Their contractor simply drilled a few (1-3) 1/2" or so holes in the center mass of the puddle area. It seemed to work pretty well for them.

My question is this a good or bad solution?

On my garage the low spot is near the door so if I ever decide to do something about it I was thinking about cutting a shallow line or two (getting depper toward the door) from the puddle area out the door. I am not sure this is any better idea. For me it isn't much of a problem right now, the garage is my project right now so it is empty of other vehicles.

Any thoughts on these two ideas?
