Hey guys just found this site looks great. had 1 ? is the total height of the box with wheels about 46 inches?

Yes. Total height is 46.5" I'm guessing this could change by a hair depending on the caster spring sag.

I received mine a couple of weeks ago, but haven't had time to write up the review as promised. I'll get on it and post lots of pics.

And yes, it's huge.

Price dropped again to 1599.00. You CAN use a coupon over the phone. I verified with Harbor F. in California. The only question I have with comparing this box to the Sears or Northern tool version is how many slides per drawer are there on those boxes. Drawer weight capacity is not very high on the HF version compared to similar other boxes.

For the money it looks like a good buy though.

FYI- I've done a LOT of research on this box and was told box is made from hot rolled steel, not cold rolled (supposedly inferior ) - but proof is in what owners have to say not what speculation is.

I know where one of these boxes are still in the crate near me at a HF store but I may buy it so I won't say where yet. I looked at it and it is impressive.

I just made a phone order for one and got the 20% coupon discount. With shipping and tax it came out to $1503.

Snap on boxes are thief targets. If you are in a shop, would you rather rip off a snap on box, or a craftsmen?

Click on the link posted above and it shows the full set, with the bottom not greyed out. Look below and there are like 5 thunbnsails. Click the one with the front of the box and you'll see it. Says it was posted by 'test'. It also says customer image over the corner of the photo. Could have been a GJ member upload. ???

They dont stock it in the Newark,Ca. store. Anyone know where they stock one of these in the Bay Area? Or Northern California? I really want to put my hands on one of these before I pull the trigger. Going to be a perfect box for my Fab shop. Got enough to already fill it up too.

I am pretty sure the southern, Dayton, Ohio store has both the bottom and the top in store, still.

I haven't been down there in a few months but I have been trying to figure out how to get it home. My 12 drawer 26" Craftsman just isn't cutting it. :lol_hitti

I called the both the North and the South stores in Dayton and neither stocks it. I have heard they have the 56" (Item # 67681) in stock at the North store but I haven't had a chance to look at it yet.

I wonder if it is made by the same company? The 56" Wolf box from Sears looks quite different.

For those that have the 72":

Are the drawers study? Does the 48" wobble when you pull it out? Wide drawers on the cman and similar quality boxes flap in the breeze and I can't stand it.

For my Canadian friends, This same cabinet sells at KMS Tools under the name Bynford. It regularly sells for $2,299.99 The top chest goes for $1,699.99

Last month I was in there looking at stuff and they had the roller cabinet with top chest and side cabinet (all three pieces)on clearance for $1,699.99

Bynford is their house brand of tools. It's a rip off of the name of the tool company that sponsored Tim the tool guy Taylor's show.

Their colour is an ugly dark blue. It looks bad on their crappy power tools, even worse on a tool chest. I believe thats why they blew the last of them out cheap. The new ones are red. An ugly red at that.

I just got one of these boxes 5-6 weeks ago,

and as I've been drooling over the S/O boxes for the last 15 years I just couldn't justify the prices for a tool box.

Once I saw this review I promptly printed out the 1500$ H/F add and my 20% off coupon an headed to my local store.

The manager told me of course they didn't stock it, but they could do a "customer request order" then I wouldn't have to pay shipping.
Cause all they do is throw it on a truck when they have room.

So 3 weeks later I get a call that the box is in, head down to the store, they ring me up for just over 1400$, load it in my truck an sent me on my way.

I am so very impressed with this box considering the build quality and the price it'll probably be the last tool box I ever buy.

I'm a 2stroke mechanic and a fab tech. so it does get used, a lot so far, an I have yet to have a problem. The drawers work great and don't woble around even totally full. Actually filling up the 4' drawer made it roll a lot smoother than empty.

Now if they only made a matching (exact same DxH) 7 or 8 drawer side box for this thing I'd be totally into it, cause it's already full.
The closest match I can find is the S/O side boxs but they cost more than I paid for the dam 72"er.

Thanks for all the reviews they deff helped me decide.

I have seen those an they are nice, but I'm looking for something more like this

http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item...&group_ID=3405&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog

I'm trying to stay away from the height of a top box and that side locker would need more drawers for me to be happy with it.

I also see that the side lockers have a different "textured" finish than the rolling bottom cab. I guess that's why they are on sale...

I sent CS an email to try to locate one (72") in my area. I asked last time I was in my local store about the textured finish. The texture is the last year model and the shiny gloss is the new stuff. I understand they are trying to blowout the texture to make room for the new shiny ones. You can get the side lockers in either texture or not. $ may vary. Although a particular store may wish to sell their inventory of textures first.

So does this mean that everything will soon have the gloss finish and the textured finish will be phased out?

The Pensacola, FL store has one in front of the registers. Looked flawless from what I could see.

The height of the top drawer is a hair under 4 1/2 inches for anyone wondering.

I dont know about that. They do things kind strange at times. The people I emailed told me they were strictly catalog dept. and they dont have anything to do with the stores, but work form the same overall inventory. They also said there is no way for them to see what a store has.

My local store said they dont get to pick what they get. They get one and sell it and a few weeks later, hopefully a new one arrives to replace it. Sometimes its the same and sometimes it is different. The local guy told me about the different finishes and he said that is why they have more of the texture in our local store. I hope the textured is phased out. I have seen a few in shops and they look real dirty after a few months (like brownish red). They are not real bright to begin with and the prices seem to be about the same. I have seen the textured on sale here recently as opposed to the shiny red ones. I have not seen the red ones in the flier lately except for the smaller one. Not sure why.

Not showing up on their web site anymore...

Not that it really means anything, as their web seems to be in a constant state of flux. It would be a shame, though, if they are no longer selling this box.

The toolbox for some reason is not listed right now on the HF website. It will be back up on the website sometime in the near future (according to the salesperson I spoke to). You can still order the toolbox and use a 20% off coupon over the phone. The toolbox # is 67428. The number to call to order it over the phone with the 20% off coupon is different than the regural HF phone number. The number is: 800-423-2567. HF is selling it for $1599.99. With the 20% off you can get it for $1280 plus $100 shipping. $1380 for a toolbox this size and quality is VERY good.

I noticed that alot of people posting on this thread dont have any cities or states in there profile. Its better for us to communicate prices and availability on these type of discussions if you had them. We dont need your home address or social security number. But a city and state would be a great help. So go to your profiles and add those.

I was looking at getting one of these after i sell my current box, the only thing im worried about is the top drawer. I noticed it only has single slides and i plan to fill it with a ton of sockets and impacts. Will it be alright?
