i was going to start hunting a 3 bay snappy or matco, but maybe now i'll buy the biggest lower H.F has, repaint it and make a badge for it that say's strap-on.and call it good. All i need is a big lower, have no desire for a big upper that i need a step stool to see into.plus the added counter space would be a dream in my shop right now, floor space is beyond slim.

Top and bottom in that price the only thing you are going to find is a KRA. If it is in that price range it is beat and something I wouldn't want anyway. The 7022 is close in size especially when you factor in the 1.5 inch trim they put on them to come up with their depth measurement. You do not get a lot of extra room in that box and you are going to pay at least twice of the HF combo just for the bottom.

I'm not going to argue and say cheap krls rain from the sky. However when it comes to depth. The HF is was the 22" deep at the most, my 1022 drawers are over 25" deep. So overall the krl drawer depth has to be close to 6" if not a little more then the HF.

How deep are the HF drawers internally(The useable space)? My KRL7002 drawers are just shy of 27"

Sam's Club has an Excel that was probably made by the same manufacturer.

Only $358 but with one less drawer and you need to pay for shipping.

Just an FYI. My local HF says they have a "**** ton"(his words) in stock. So it seems they anticipated the rush of people wanting them.

I may swing by next week but it seems the lack of photos nobody has seen one in the wild yet, let alone made a purchase.

Heads up, my HF has the 56" top and bottom combo for $999.99. Seems like a pretty good deal to me!

My HF got the 56" top box out on display this week sometime. Warning big photos. I won't img tag them you can click to see them instead.

pic 1
pic 2

pic 4

You can see in pic 3 they don't have them lined up exactly but I took that photo specifically because, best I can tell, it's lined up in the back. It might be the top isn't the same overall dimensions, I could really only get to 2 corners well and one partly.

In pic 4 I put the sale paper there to show there is really no depth to the top compartment. Maybe 1" tall, unlike the 44" that has more to it.

Hope this helps someone.

Wow, What a waste of a top lid. Might as well just have another drawer.

I want that black 1 drawer cart! All I ever see is the red single drawer. Any know the part number on the black one?

You can't get that black one anymore. That one isn't for sale, I've asked. It's the same black crinkle paint as the real cheapo 26" stack. Based on what they told me when I asked, you'd rather have the red one anyway.

What is the purpose of the top compartment?

On my Snapon top box I drilled a 1" hole in the back of the top box and ran power up there. I have a power strip and my radio up there. I also keep my battery chargers up there. I can't close the lid while charging but I don't like leaving my batteries charge while I'm not around so it works out fine.

Played around with one of these at my local HF this morning. It's nice. All the same as the 56" bottom and the 44" bottom, of course.

For 1300+ tax you can find a really nice used truck brand box.

Exactly.
I picked up this box with side box for cheaper than the HF deal. Just needed to replace one caster. Ordered from the local truck and got it in a week.
Deals are still out there. Just got to have patience and cash on hand. This particular box was located a couple hundred miles away. I had my brother check it out and pick it up for me.

edit**
I have no clue why the picture is upside down.

I stopped by the local HF on my way home today to check out the new top box and snapped some pics while I was there. The top box seemed well built to me and fit on the bottom pretty well IMO. Hope these help someone out. If I had the cash I would strongly consider this set.

Top and Bottom, notice the corners and trim line up pretty well
