Rain in Tallahassee? Who you trying to kid?
The rain last night was quite a lot. I’ve got a box of visqueen that probably help.
Understandable, because it was probably “Due to the Covid”, which has become a euphemism for “We kinda **** at what we do”Apparently NOT !! Since tomorrow is 14 weeks since I called in to let Tubular Building Systems know I had a slab in place, I called to politely ask if they could give me some sort of estimation of delivery time. The woman put me on hold while she pulled up my account. She came back to tell me that there is NO RECORD OF ME HAVING CALLED IN THAT MY SLAB IS READY !!!! F#####CK !!
I’m more of a fan of visqeen and Wesson oilNo parties this weekend, this is a rough one every year.
Naked Crisco Twister...I’m more of a fan of visqeen and Wesson oil![]()
Not everyone has a cooked brain down here, just everyone John has contacted.Holy cow, TF. What a mess.
The level of f***ery going on with your project is insane. Apparently my brother was right about everyone down there having their brains cooked...
Sorry to hear about the struggles. Hopefully it gets to be a little smoother sailing soon.
Blame Shortykorte- he talked him into it.So......what is a guy with a heart condition who can't do heat (I'm in the same boat) doing in Floriduh of all places? Don't you know it gets hot down there 11.9 months of the year?
That’s right! Not everyone has a cooked brain down here, just everyone John has contacted.

That's what I'm hoping to avoid.Hope that solves the drainage problem. We went through a real mess last year when my neighbor brought in 100+ truckloads of dirt to prepare his building pad. Completely blocked the natural drainage off my lot, and re-directed his drainage onto my lot. Things got a little tense, to say the least. We worked it out, but lets just say we're not on each other's Christmas card list anymore.
Thanks for stopping in Michael. I'll try to post daily progress pics. And check in on you.John I just finished reading your entire thread (and subscribed), WOW! What an ordeal!! You have really been put through the wringer on this shop build. It makes all of my set backs look minuscule by comparison. I'm glad you finally got a firm build date. I know Shorty is getting impatient!![]()

TF, things are looking good around your place, I’ll bet you are getting antsy for your building to start. What are you going to buy with your $6k savings?
Jay
In my experience, if you can get out of the ground/concrete on budget, the rest is pretty easy.Jay, I'm already about $25k over budget, so there's really no money to spend.
I'm actually getting nervous about tomorrow. After all the incompetence and unprofessionalism I've experience here in Florida I'm anticipating being on top of these installers every second.
I have supplied a 5 gal. bucket full of water bottles and gatorade on ice (and re-filled as needed) for every crew that has worked on this project. I have also supplied lunch at least one day for each crew. And still, they have let me down.A cooler full of cold drinks and burgers on the grill at lunchtime will go a long way.

Look at the bright side, at least it wasn’t $250K$25k before my building cost.
