I find black oxide to be a less corrosion resistant layer to chrome. I have black oxide tools and they get spots of corrosion on them that I have to apply oil to. I don't see that with my chrome tools.
I've had 2 identical sets of very small diagonal cutters from Knipex at work that had the chrome begin peeling off the jaws. I contacted Knipex, went through their warranty process to return them and they were replaced.
I would like to understand why they have redesigned the pliers wrench. What were the observations of shortcomings in the original that needed this redesign? I never thought weight to be an issue, the small tools are light, and by time you get to the 400 size Pliers wrench, of course its heavy.. Does anyone ever think their adjustable wrenches are just too heavy? Not trying to nay-say the series 2, just want to understand what the improvements are or if this is just marketing department's chance to try and sell more rather than engineering department making real improvements.
