I like the look of the new ones. I find the black finish quite rust resistant, as often my cobras and alligators get wet or spend the night in a wet tool pouch and look fine the next day. I like how the rougher grips “break in” and end up with a patina from use.

I don’t own PW as of now, but I think I’ll be buying the new style when I find them. In this case I think lighter is better.

Bought one, never really used it.

Not a good pair of pliers and not a good wrench.

But, I seem to be in the minority.

The Pliers-Wrench works great for that, too! It'll even fold a penny in half with moderate effort.

The jaws keeping parallel is super useful, aside from standard wrenching duties. I used them to press in some small linkage bearings a little while back. Quick and easy.

I attached a picture of the press I used to get the bearings out, but I was unable to use my little homemade press to get them back in (lack of planning when designing/building it).

I only have the one size right now, but will be looking to add more eventually. I definitely like the chromed finish over my cobras - easier to clean as others have said.

Yeah, I've used em to press little bushings and such into place as well. With a 200 lb squeeze force, they can exert ~1 ton of pressure.

Sorry.

I saw the title saying “New” and thought maybe it was a new thread. Thanks for pointing out my error.

I guess I’d should keep better track of my postings.

Aging is not for the timid

I’m not as old as I’m going to be.

But, it’s good to know someone other than my wife is keeping track of me.

As for the sale, I keep them to remind me to not jump on every bandwagon that comes along.
