The video shows it has a push button like the Cobra/PW.
And there is just barely a teaser glimpse of part of the jaw.

Looks like a PW style mechanism with a toothed jaw of some sort based on the video. Will be interesting to see the exact shape when they release it.

This new product better be designed to actually solve a problem and be an efficient solution. If it is a specialized set of pliers for extracting screws, it better actually do the job better than a pair of vice grips. My engineer screw extracting pliers have got to be one of most useless high end tools I've purchased. Some say the Knipex locking pliers are pretty average. If that is the case, I'd rather they work on those than release a redundant screw extracting solution. The last thing we need is another product conjured up by a bored engineer like the Knipex Raptor.

The more i look at this, im thinking locking slip joint pliers with possibly a modified tip for screw extraction.
They never had slip joints in their line up.
Notice the orientation of the flats on the button.
They are horizontal, not vertical like the Cobra.
Also the plier halves have a wider cross section in that area.
Notice the jaws appear possibly parallel or slightly angled to the handles.

It's got a lithium-ion battery-powered carbide cutting wheel at the end of it? That'll show those rusty screw heads!

I agree!

Well, they "stole" your screenshot, maybe you can persuade them to "steal" your name too. ;) It would go along nicely with their other names, alligator, cobra, raptor, etc.

So it's like a narrow lineman plier?

Well I'm/we are hoping they have a groove at the front of the jaws for screw removal like the Engineer/Vampliers pliers. By the sounds of it I believe that's what these are. If they are not I won't be buying them but I'm pretty sure they are.

Here's the translation from Knipex's German site.

OK Gang, June 1st came and went. Where's the press release, you tube video, more information and most importantly, when will they be available in the USA? Enough teasing, I might want a pair

I'm looking forward to seeing the teeth up front. I'm hoping they are cross hatched.

It looks like there's the nail gripping area from the 08 series. Here's a description from the 08 series.

"Milled groove in the gripping area permits small parts such as nails, pins and bolts to be held and pulled"

Is that what a robot would consider *****. Doesn’t get me excited.
And I am a Knipex fan.

It's during June, so we shouldn't expect the 1:st. I would guess we should hope for the middle of the month. And availability will probably be first in July.

Dear Knipex,
Offer a version without the screw removal teeth.
Aggressive crosshatch teeth instead.
A basic locking slip joint plier.
It will sell better than this.

Your welcome,
Knurlednut

P.S. BTW, quit calling them TwinGrips. They are Piranhas. :bounce:
