$780. No thanks.

What's not to like about Milwaukee?

No experience with the Matco but always good to learn about new products. The Matco and IR cordless have more of a angle to them in relation to the handle. The Mac, Milwaukee and Snap-on are straighter. The power selectors are also quite different between the brands. Not sure which is more reliable

If you're not happy with Milwaukee cordless tools, then I don't think you'll be satisfied with Matco. I'm not saying Matco is bad, but I doubt they are "better" than Milwaukee....

Just my honest opinion. Your mileage may vary....

Currently own the Milwaukee m18 tools, and am unhappy with them. Thinking about getting this that they just came out with, anyone have the 3/8 version? was gonna get both this 1/2 and the 3/8... The price is kinda outrageous though.

That gun might be a bit better than the IR. $300 better, with one battery vs. two, probably not.

The Matco looks very nice. If you are a professional and use your tools everyday, buy what you like. Or if you are not on a budget and like having expensive pro tools. I am just a DIYer who works on his own cars, but I find the Milwaukee stuff to be more than good enough. I spent a lot on my shop reno and spend a lot on tools and car parts but I have not found myself needing a $750 impact. However, if I did find myself needing more, I would buy it. I assume the OP has found he needs more.

The issue I have with milwaukee is it keeps breaking, and never had the power it claimed.

I've worked with a couple guys that had the Matco ratchet and a couple other drill/driver type tools, overall they seem pretty solid, but the truck price is a bit much to me for what they are. Dont know anyone that has the 3/8 or 1/2 impact.

I have Milwaukee stuff FWIW.

Been using my 2767 every day since it was released an never had an issue w it. As far as power goes its just as strong as the IR. I dont think any of them do exactly the numbers they claim

Former coworker had the 3/8 impact, loved it. At my new place our SM just bought one for home use. Let you know how he likes it. I've considered selling all my Mileaukee stuff for the Matco lineup but my problem is for the price the warranty is a measily two years vs 5 for Milwaukee. Snap-On and Mac are the same at one year. Sorry but for the price I need more.

I have no experience with the matco line up, but if I was in the market, I'd look at it. I have sworn off Milwaukee after dealing with a joke of a warranty they have. I'm currently running the Mac/Dewalt 20-60v line up and have been pretty happy with it.

What keeps breaking? I've been using my milwaukee stuff at work for years now with no complaints. I've had the 2755 for probably 3 years now and the 2861 for over a year, i added the 2767 3 months ago and like the other stuff, it's been great.

I've used the Milwaukee warranty twice and both times were completely painless and easy. Even messaged them on IG before about a broken tape and they sent me a swag box with a shirt, 3 tapes including one of the new wide blades, some pens and a D2 knife.

I consider their CS outstanding

Still like my "Chinese DeWalt" high output 20V impact... little on the heavy side, but... hasn't failed me yet, and has enough oomph to pop whatever I throw at it (including various lugnuts and a harmonic balancer bolt or 2)...

And it was nowhere near $800.

I've had my hands on that "Matco" and its ballsy. My only issue is Matcos rebranding. I have a problem paying extra for them to put their name on someone else's tools

Bought my matco 2 years ago with 2 batteries, 799. Fucker hits hard and was a damn good gun but with all my milwaukee purchases since then I put it at home and got a milwaukee. beats it hands down. 1300ft/lbs was damn competitive with the milwaukee, However the downside is those 2 200 dollar per battery fuckers aren't usable with the next generation of tools. Its only been 2 years for gods sake. That is the down side. Also the absurd cost.

If you aren't happy with your milwaukee my guess is you wont be happy with any cordless tool. Keep in mind the matco warranty is only 1 or 2 years as opposed to the 5 year warranty on the red, and battery warranty is usually only 1 year. Large gamble for 700+ dollars.

You might have a point, the one I really want is the 3/8, my air half inch is pretty good. But I have a hard time justifying the price, it’s a want not a need. My milwaukee 1/2 hasn’t been reliable but can’t complain about my other tools. I just don’t think the 1/2 is built for professional everyday use. I actually have two of them Bc the one I sent in four times so whenever I need to warranty it I have another. You might be right It’s possible I won’t be happy with any cordless.

I could also just buy the 3/8 Milwaukee mod torque for like 200 bucks.

My batteries are also over 3 years old... they still hold a charge awhile but is it possible they are making the tools down on power? I was just gonna run them till dead.

I didn’t even realize that the batteries can’t be used with the new tool on the matco and it’s been two years. That’s nuts.

What model m18 impact are you having problems with? How old is it? What batteries are you using with it, and what are you attempting to use it for that you feel its under performing? Also, what broke? There are a ton of people on here using Milwaukee impacts, and most are very impressed with what they get. Thats not to say you might not be having an issue, but it might be something people can help you with. Unfortunately there is no Milwaukee rep on this board, but there are enough people using those impacts to be able to let you know if something just isnt right. That said - everything has its limits..

The 2763 was the first one I had issues with

Here’s both of them in this video. I sent it in four time and four times it broke within two weeks of them “fixing it” by broke I mean same issue as before:

Got tired of warranting that so bought the new one.

2767 was dead on arrival never fired up and so I just exchanged it at Home Depot. It’s never had its “1400” pounds. I’m using 5.0 batteries in fairness they’re probably 2-3 or more years old. They hold a charge pretty well, no crazy decrease in run time. Maybe the batteries are old, or aren’t big enough for the impact. The batteries also feel like they’re about to fall out, they wobble around like crazy.

My m12 fuel impact driver has been decent. Can’t complain, same with m12 drill and m18 drill. Tho the drills only get busted out every now and then. Not used constantly

M12 fuel 3/8 ratchet is a joke. Bought it for the power increase, but my snap on 3/8 just walks all over it in power. It’s a gutless turd IMO No doubt. Using a 6.0 battery even. It’s also much slower than snap on, but that’s just nit picking. Also recently now when it’s upside down about 1/2 the time it’ll just do nothing when the triggers depressed. I’m kind of sick of Milwaukee tools. Closest repair center is one hour away and I’m tired of going there.

This is my experience. I know a lot of people love their stuff, and I really want to join you. But my problems have gotten very annoying.

Dude, let me tell ya, when my matco guy told me I could use my old gun with new batteries, but I would need a new charger/adapter that’s bulky af, I took that damn thing home. Again great gun, but for 200$ a pop I can justify not having a battery line maintained. The 3/8 looks awesome. But in my opinion, there are some guys I work with that agree have it and love it, the mid torque 3/8 would be the better option. That is my next purchase, that or the 3/4! Good luck!

I have Te orange 1/2 and 3/8 I also have some of the 12v stuff. I like them. several guys in our shops have the 3/8 also everyone like them. I started my Matco electrics some years ago and got good trade in value when i bought new. If I started now I would go Milwaukee or Dewalt some guys have the Flex volt and MAC versions they work well also.

Did you check out the adapter? It's really not that bulky.
