Iand our rep tells me any older tools that need warranty will be replaced by an equivalent CARLYLE tool. As far as S-K is concerned, i am a big fan, and if their future is in question it is for 2 reasons. (1)- They still dont have good distribution, they need to team up with a national retailer {pep boys} {tractor supply} or wherever. (2) - They still want to give you a hard time with warranty issues, you gotta have brass knuckles, and a picture of their kids at the bus stop, to get them to replace anything.
i talked to the local napa guys today, they said the evercraft tools will be marked carlyle also, to cover low end, and high end buyers. not sure if its totally true or what, but i would not expect a cheap economy napa tool to be warrantied with the good stuff. i can tell ya now, that aint gonna happen.
anyways, they had a wrench set, a screwdriver set, and a socket set, whcih they were sent accidentally. they are sending them back instead of putting them out on the shelf.... they are not even attempting to carry the new line. they feel it will not sell, and is over priced, and will only be available for order at their location.
i took a good look at the wrenches and sockets, the wrenches seem like quality tools, the open end seems a bit over done, but high quality none the less. the sockets were nice, average gearwrench quality comparable from what i could tell. i would buy them and give some of the stuff a spin if the prices come down a bit. i wouldnt pay $130 for the wrench set i messed with today.
