If their wrenches are so great why are the six points not offset 15 degrees? They are dead on center. There are little inconsistencies in the design of Carlyle tools that would not be excusable for a top truck brand. They haven't been around long enough to command the type of pricing they are proposing. If they don't fix that quickly the brand will not take off.
I haven't held one yet but, the picture of the 6 point combination appears to have the open end offset at 15 degrees to the boxed end. I'm not sure what your complaint is and since you're not going to buy any, it's a moot point
What would GearWrench cost you in those sizes?
A set of 1/2 drive deep chrome 6 point sockets in sizes 10-19 mm would run roughly $48.38 from Gearwrench. The Carlyle set runs into larger sizes than what's offered by Gearwrench in chrome.
I think the point everyone is missing is that NAPA has
NEVER
been an inexpensive choice for buying hand tools. Their formally US made Danaher supplied tools were pricey unless on sale. Compare their prices in the current real deals flyer on Armstrong tools to give you an idea of what I'm talking about.
Lastly,
NO ONE is forcing anyone to buy Carlyle tools. As a country of choices, you can choose to buy whatever brand of tool you care to and can afford.
My original point in this thread was that NAPA has launched a new line of tools. If you're not interested, move on, there's nothing to see here. On the other hand, I think NAPA will sell these tools to many of the techs working in the small independent shops NAPA delivers to daily. Craftsman still has the best warranty, and may continue to sell the sets for pennies on the piece, despite moving production off shore but, for unique sizes and different lengths and styles, Carlyle will be another option especially if you don't have a tool truck visiting your shop. Enjoy your tools regardless of whose name is stamped on them and for those of you that want to bash without owning,
