Haven't used these yet, but spend a lot of time doing side by side tests of 29 pieces drill sets.

Cyro treated stuff had a lot of hooplah in recent years in the aftermarket oil pump gear and brake rotors sector. These have largely been dispelled by the racing community as we blow apart our oil pumps and crack heat cycled rotors.

Further, the features outlined there basically all speak to hardness and surface hardness. You don't add 5% and 8% cobalt to M2/M7 HSS just to get the room temperature Rc a couple points higher. It's for heat resistance/red hardness.

Cutting through a hard piece of sheetmetal I can see how it would benefit. But if you want to run decent speeds and cut for a reasonable amount of time just step up to M35 and M42. No cheap way around it.

I had a set of brake rotors cyro treated and I was happily surprised they did last longer. Most people in racing don't bother since rotors are a normal maintenance item and the added time to order them treated, well in racing you always need it yesterday. Does the wear resistance mean much in a drill bit??? don't know but it will help, just a question of how much.

There is a company that comes to my workplace by the name of Partsmaster.
They sell many different things, but 1 of there lines is cryogenic treated blades and bits.
When the salesman was first bragging about them I thought it to be more snake oil.

My mind has been changed after we got the first ones and have been buying them since. While it does not make them invinceable or dull proof I think they do last better than many other brands of sawzall blades and drill bits.

My opinion- cryogenic treating is not snake oil.
