I was pondering my great grandfather's anvil/vise out in the shop, and walked in and googled it. That's how I found this: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=253840
A guy who goes by Voi has one just like mine! And mine has been in the family since new back in Iowa. My dad could remember taking the vise off the anvil and using it as a come-along to stretch fencing wire of some sort.
Anyhow, the more important thing here is that I found this community! I have snooped around just a tiny bit, but enough to know I've found a place where I think I'll fit just fine. Most people view my vintage tools and gas station antiques as so much junk. I don't think I'll encounter that attitude here.
Thanks for letting me join.
