Been a lurker around here for a little while and finally got to use a lot of what I read on here (for which I express my sincere thanks to all the members here).

I Went to RaceDeck.com and used their online tool to plan out the garage tile - this made things really easy.

Called Race Deck 20 minutes later and placed an order for 390sq ft of tile with a very nice rep named Dunja.

Tiles arrived at my home a mere few days later. Received them on a Thursday and installed them all on a Saturday.

Some notes that are basically rehashes of everything I learned on here from various members:

(1) I got so excited when I received the tile that I forgot to purchase garden mesh to place underneath it. I would highly recommend this if you don't like hearing hollow clacking sounds wherever the floor is a little wavy. Personally, it's not a big deal for me but thought it should be mentioned.

(2) I used a Makita 5 3/8" cordless circular saw to cut the tile I need to cut. I reversed the multi-purpose blade, set the depth just a little over 1/2in and used a guide (actually I made a quick jig out of some plywood and just slid the tiles in and cut away). Cuts were fast and easy and I merely used a file to debur the edges. I was going to use a miter saw, but I liked the portability of the small circular I was using.

(3) I used a cordless high speed dremel with a cutting wheel to cut notches where needed. Like the circular saw - this made things real easy.

(4) 390 Sq feet with approx 30 tiles to cut and 6 notches. The whole job took approx 6 hours total (just by myself).

(5) The Race Deck tile was super easy to snap in and since they ship already assembled in 24x24 squares, this made things move very fast. What a great product! Although it took a little effort to unsnap tiles the few times I need to, it was still very simple. Did I already state what a great product this was? :)

(6) It's nice when you find a great product that you feel gave you more than your money's worth and you are glad you purchased, but Race Deck takes it a step further with their extremely friendly and accomodating customer service. I can't say enough nice things about Dunja who helped me with my order - this kind of friendly service was icing on the cake!

That floor is sweet icing atop a fine cake!

I agree; Mr. Moller and his colleagues strike me as first class professionals!

Nice idea tying the design of the floor to the design of the cabinets. It really completes the overall look of your garage.

Tip on the garage tracks ( rails ) - You can just cut off the bottom of each at just over 1/2" the ground and the RaceDeck will go under it. ( the door wheels do not come down that far)

Thank you everyone for the very nice comments. They made my day! :)

dezigninmotion - I'll take a picture of the tile around the door track for you tonight. Really simple though. I just cut a notch in the tile around it leaving about 1/2" of space for expansion. Glad I left space too because the tile did expand a little when it got really hot a week ago.

Dan Metzler - LOVE the Gladiator cabinets. Got a SUPER price on them when Craftsman club had a sale on them. Picked them up at around 25-30% off through sears.com. Rented a truck to pick them up at a local Sears (a LOT less expensive than delivery - and I got to unpack and inspect them there). These are the welded cabinets. Only assembly was attaching the casters. I HIGHLY recommend the welded vs. the ones you must assemble at Lowes. I think someone else pointed this out here and I will reiterate - very big difference in quality (and probably in price too - but worth the extra money). They are pretty expensive at regular price. Try to find out when Craftsman Club will have their next sale on these. It's free to join when you are ready to buy.

philip g - lol! I don't do much laundry (most goes to the cleaners) - but what little I do I find entertainment value in the little tunes the washer/dryer plays at start/finish. LOL! :)

MDSPhoto/Balloons - lol you guys are too kind. I have cameras set up inside and outside the house (not that I'm paranoid - they just work better for me than an alarm company) - so here's a pic of the kitchen and a couple of the upstairs view which is truly the focal point of the house. My little Shangrila! lol!

Thanks again everyone for the super nice comments. What a great bunch of folks! :)
