Been a lurker around here for a little while and finally got to use a lot of what I read on here (for which I express my sincere thanks to all the members here).
I Went to RaceDeck.com and used their online tool to plan out the garage tile - this made things really easy.
Called Race Deck 20 minutes later and placed an order for 390sq ft of tile with a very nice rep named Dunja.
Tiles arrived at my home a mere few days later. Received them on a Thursday and installed them all on a Saturday.
Some notes that are basically rehashes of everything I learned on here from various members:
(1) I got so excited when I received the tile that I forgot to purchase garden mesh to place underneath it. I would highly recommend this if you don't like hearing hollow clacking sounds wherever the floor is a little wavy. Personally, it's not a big deal for me but thought it should be mentioned.
(2) I used a Makita 5 3/8" cordless circular saw to cut the tile I need to cut. I reversed the multi-purpose blade, set the depth just a little over 1/2in and used a guide (actually I made a quick jig out of some plywood and just slid the tiles in and cut away). Cuts were fast and easy and I merely used a file to debur the edges. I was going to use a miter saw, but I liked the portability of the small circular I was using.
(3) I used a cordless high speed dremel with a cutting wheel to cut notches where needed. Like the circular saw - this made things real easy.
(4) 390 Sq feet with approx 30 tiles to cut and 6 notches. The whole job took approx 6 hours total (just by myself).
(5) The Race Deck tile was super easy to snap in and since they ship already assembled in 24x24 squares, this made things move very fast. What a great product! Although it took a little effort to unsnap tiles the few times I need to, it was still very simple. Did I already state what a great product this was?
(6) It's nice when you find a great product that you feel gave you more than your money's worth and you are glad you purchased, but Race Deck takes it a step further with their extremely friendly and accomodating customer service. I can't say enough nice things about Dunja who helped me with my order - this kind of friendly service was icing on the cake!
