I've never had a problem getting warranty replacements for Ridgid.
I've got their older 12v 90-degree impact driver drill combo kit, an 18v circular saw, and a flashlight. I had not touched the 18v batteries in a couple years, so they were goners. I forgot to register the saw & batteries, but once I produced my receipt it was only a week before I had 2 new ones.
Another time I needed to replace two of the 12v batteries, and I wanted the impact driver checked out. I dropped it off and two weeks later I got a call that they were ready to be picked up. They ended up replacing both 12v batteries, and instead of just fixing the impact, which I wasn't even sure was messed up, they gave me a refurbished kit which had an impact driver, 2 batteries, and a charger in a hard plastic case, all of which looked new, besides the "Refurbished" stamp that was melted in everything.
These were spread out about 3-5 years apart and at different locations. I've been happy with their warranty and while I've since moved on to Milwaukee, due to having more options available, I will be going back to Ridgid for their compact 12v drill as that's what I use most and I've had pretty bad luck with Milwaukee on those. Mine had way too much wobble, so I had it fixed under warranty, and after little use, in soft metal or wood, the replacement does the same thing. Plus, I had to replace the chuck since it wouldn't stay tight.
