That will work. I like having hot water since I need a washing machine for my towels and stuff, but have never seen a need for just a shop bathroom.

Well I haven't much progress in a while. The electrician is pretty busy and can't seem to make it out to my place. The electric company has ran their line to the meter box!
I did get to use my shop for the first time tho... the brakes on the BMW needed changing. It's so nice to have a space for this kind of stuff. Even though I had to use a shop light, I still really enjoyed myself.

Went to a friend of mine that is a plumber and he had a sink with hot and cold water and a urinal and I thought that was so awesome. Every shop needs a bath room. My wife gets so pissed when I make a mess in the bathroom in house. Would be so nice to have a place to pee in the shop. Thinking about a urinal out of a porta john and run hose out to dry well.
Having a bathroom in the shop is nice. Especially when trying to keep dirty spaces dirty and clean spaces clean.
Plus this room can house the towels and cleaning supplies.
I did make some progress today. A bit chilly today but once I got moving around it wasn't bad. The electrical inspector wanted to have a GFCI outlet where the hot water tank is going. I think is was because its proximity to the toilet. (City code). So I got that installed.
I also started on the dry wall. Got one side of one wall done. This was really so I could get back into the groove of drywalling. A friend of mine did show me a trick with walls that are taller than 8'. Put a full size board at the top and then at the bottom. Then, cut a epic to fill in the middle. It saves your back when it comes to mud and sanding.

You can get drywall 54" wide for 9' tall walls. Another trick is to cut off the mud recess on the bottom of the lower sheet and fill in the middle as shown. This give a flat surface for the base mold.

These are 10' foot walls so I would have still had to do the same thing for the 9' sheets. And I'm okay with the unevenness between the sheets. That's what mud is for, right? Plus, I plan on texturing the walls.
My original plan was to make the car shop area, where the bathroom is, have a 10' ceiling. But I think I've changed my mind but that was after I had built the walls for the bathroom. So, I'll have plenty of space for storage.

I am not big on having textured walls, they tend to collect dust so my vote is for a smooth finish and have to agree an Off White is a good choice.

Well, not much progress. Got the sink and toilet in tho... did just the area needed to get the sink and toilet in... been a bit crazy at work. I hate it when work gets in the way of normal life.
I did end up putting a little bit of texture on the walls and used semi-gloss paint. I'm hoping to be able to finish the bathroom this weekend... as long as work doesn't call me...

I was thinking enclosed trailer with the original plan. Since you have a camper, you should have just plumbed the black water in and hooked up the water line, instant bathroom.
So it's been a while. We finally finished the big project at work. The only thing I was able to accomplish was three more lights. Boo, work ***** sometimes.
Anyhow, recently I was the recipient of a beautiful early 20th century industrial workbench.
I really like this workbench especially the patina. The wife did good. I want to make some modifications but my question here is, how far is too far with a workbench like this one? I want to build in a clamp or two and change the underside to accommodate storage and adjust the height to my height. But how much of the original layout of the top should I keep original?

How tall is that door for the camper? 13'?
14'. We only needed 11 1/2' for the trailer but we wanted to plan ahead in case we wanted something that required a bigger door. The price was actually the same because the side walls at 16' as they would have been shorter. I guess because the size of the steel is the same. The door wasn't that much more.
After wrestling with stack-jacks and getting tired of feeling like I was about to fall every time I got on them, I broke down and rented a scissor lift. And wow, I should have done that from the git-go... made the process of putting up lights a million times faster and easier! So, I have all of the lights up now... whew, only took me 6 months..
Needed to bend some EMT but I don't do it enough to warrant spending $40 on one. So I made my own. It was surprisingly easy.
I grabbed a scrap 2x4 and a paddle pit. Stood the 2x4 on its edge then with the drill, I started drilling at an an angle and as I drilled into the board I pivoted up. Thus creating a curved hole in the 2x4. I then cut a notch out to allow easy manipulation of the material. Only thing that I would do additionally would be to put a curved hole on the back side.

Nice job. If you decide to install door openers, I'd suggest renting the scissor lift again.
