Are they 100% sealed or can you replace/repair the head?

All the pictures shared thus far are shots of prototypes

When we get in the actual ratchets I'll post some pics. Should be able to get them in before July 4th. Excited to hold one in my hand and check 'em out. I'll ask about the ratchet replacement kits and see if they're planning to offer them as well.

That's from the first prototype, though. This one is a bit different.

The photo jakemac posted with the knurling strips on the handle is (supposedly) the newer version. The more rounded/smooth handle was the original prototype shared with us.

Oh, okay. I got them confused. Bummer. I liked the green selector handle, a S-K signature.

I'm not in the market for another ratchet, so all this is academic for me.

I suspect that the current "shaped" handle with knurled strips will satisfy no-one. The guys who want a knurled handle will think it's not got enough knurl, while the guys who want the shaped handle will be mad that there's two knurl strips to retain dirt 'n' grease. At least when it's new, it looks nice.

I also thought the green lever was a nice touch. Keep in mind, I like green. Or orange. If it had been blue, it would have turned me off.

So there's a customer-oriented touch that might cost SK little: Offer a variety of lever colors.

I like that Proto at least partially recessed the lever. Not too keen on having it completely unprotected on the SK.

Glad to see that the green selector is in.
Sorry to see the knurled rings go. I was looking forward to trying them out.

^^^ You got that backwards man.

The green selector is gone and the knurled rings are staying.

Once again -

Some clarification for you guys on the SK Ratchets.

Turns out that the pics on the flyer were accurate and that the pics they sent me that I posted were of the prototype.
:dunno:

So.......what this means is the ratchets are going to have the smooth handle with the green selector switch.

I will post pics of them when they arrive. Sorry for the confusion.

Well Harry Epsteins once again removes the burden of a full wallet.

I can't seem to buy just one thing from HJE. Oh well I'll take the beatings from the wife.

Welp, just bought my first SK tool ever from Epstein! Actually, I think this might be the first ratchet I've actually ever bought.

No interest in that slippery done to death handle. They should of kept the "prototype". Easy pass until they introduce more versions.

I always wanted a Snap-on handle without the grooves to cut into my fingers. I would have never guessed that SK would be the first to come out with one.

I ordered one. Exactly what I have been looking for in a ratchet. Been using Craftsman for a while, don't like them at all. Snap On ones are great, but the price isn't. I like this style forward/reverse lever design better than SK's standard ones.

When do they come out with 1/4" and 1/2" drive ones? Flex heads?

What's interesting is that they went with hex screws instead of the traditional torx screws that you find on many other brands
